With its foundations laid in 1890, the University of Chicago is one of the oldest research universities of the world. The university was founded with the motive of providing equal opportunities for higher education to people from all backgrounds and its focus on rigorous academic excellence has helped it become one of the best universities in the world. The main campus of the University is located in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighbourhood near the Lake Michigan and a number of satellite campuses have been established in Hong Kong, New Delhi, Paris etc. The university offers state-of-the-art infrastructure to support the academics and research of students and faculty. The University offers 52 majors and 41 minors undergraduate courses. It has 6 professional schools and 5 divisions for postgraduate studies.
