Limited in-person classes this fall for students who want to come to campus. The same shall be restricted to a small number of students and be conducted with all public health guidelines in place.
All new students in their home country can enrol in completely online sessions for the fall semester. They would not require a valid F-1 visa or I-20 to take classes online.
New students going to the US for the fall semester will not be able to enrol in a fully online course of study. A course that is held ‘online’ for visa requirements should have at least one course component that will be conducted in hybrid or flexible modes or in person.
Everyone present on campus should meet city, state and campus guidelines for physical distancing, hand washing and face coverings.
Continuing UC Berkeley students who are not in the US but wish to enrol in online classes must maintain an entire course of study to keep their J-1 or F-1 status and remain inactive SEVIS status.
