Webster University was founded in 1915 as a Catholic religious organisation and was named s Loretto College. It is a non-profitable private university in the United States with its main base in western Missouri. The university separated from the Church in 1967 with a mission to ensure that the students experience quality education and each student achieves excellence in their area of study. Webster University has been ranked 15th in Regional Universities Midwest by the U.S. News & World Report 2021. It also has an overall score of 73 out of 100 with an average 6-year graduate rate of 60%.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The main campus of Webster University is located in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The other campuses of Webster University are situated in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Every year, more than 14,000 students study at the campus under various disciplines. Many online courses are also offered by the university for those who are interested in distance learning programmes. The number of online undergraduate, graduate and certificate courses offered by Webster University is more than 60. Film & video production, nursing, cinematography and business administration are counted among Webster’s most popular areas of study across its fice schools and colleges.

The university has a huge alumni network of 200,000 graduates spread across the world, making their mark in a wide range of fields including science, healthcare, entertainment, sports, media, politics, fashion designing and more. Webster University is an internationally recognised university with students from more than 100 countries and campuses in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. According to the reports, the international students at Webster University contribute 15% of the total students at the university. In addition, 49% of it represents BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color). The Open Doors Report by the Institute of International Education (IIIE) ranked Webster among the top universities in Missouri to host international students. The university recognises the fact that the multicultural presence of faculty, other staff members and students cultivate academic excellence. Hence, it is committed to providing a positive atmosphere that fosters relationships.
Webster University has made keep the community safe its priority while optimising the standards of education with as little disruption as possible. The university is continuously updating the ways and putting in place the required measures to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
There will be a combination of both online and in-person classes, with minimal on-campus classes.
Students may register for their courses and obtain places in online or offline classes that they need.
While Webster is trying to deliver courses in a flexible manner during this time, not all courses will be offered in all formats/modalities.
The university has made available devices to provide students facing technology or internet issues with the required assistance. This includes a stock of devices, an emergency loan program and options for internet access.
Webster has requested those wishing to take the semester off to be patient and keep on the path to complete their degree and educational goals.

So far, no changes have been made to the Spring 2021 academic calendar. Undergraduate classes have started on January 11 and will continue until May 7. Spring break will occur in the week of March 8-12. Graduate classes for Spring 2021 started on January 4 and will end on May 14, with Spring Break occurring between March 8 and 12.
This scholarship opportunity is open to international freshman students based on their high school scores or GPA. They are notified within two to three weeks after they have received their admission decision. No separate application is required to apply for the scholarship.
Value: $13,000 - $19,000 per year (renewable for duration of the program)
This is based on an international transfer applicant’s post-secondary academic performance/GPA. The GPA should be cumulative of all graded college-level work and/or high school academic record. The scholarship will be awarded at the time of admission and no separate application is required to apply for the scholarship.
Value: $10,000 - $16,000 per year (renewable for duration of the program)
Offering to international students applying to postgraduate programs at the university’s St. Louis, MO campuses, the scholarship is aimed at providing financial support to students affected by the economic slowdown. Applicants must be starting their graduate studies in 2021, who will be directly considered at the time of application.
Value: 15-20% of the tuition fee
*Note: Irvine and Orlando campus international students may be considered for a limited period.
The scholarships are awarded based on a freshman applicant’s academic performance. They will be automatically reviewed at the time of admission and notified within 10-14 days after notifying their admission decision.
Value: $13,000 - $19,000
Must be an incoming freshman applying for a full-time undergraduate program.
Must belong to an ethnic group typically underrepresented in higher education.
Must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale), ranked among the top 20% of high school graduating class, or a composite score of 25 or 1200 in ACT or SAT respectively. Only two of these should be fulfilled.
Value: Full Tuition - Renewable
Webster University offers scholarships to a freshman who has demonstrated leadership during high school and will continue to show it during their time at the university. A separate application shall be submitted for this scholarship along with the admission application and all required documents. Up to 12 individuals will be awarded.
Must have demonstrated leadership in high school
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3
Must have scored a composite score of 24 in ACT of 1160-1190 in SAT Critical Reading and Math combined.
Value: $2,000 - Renewable
Deadline: February 8, 2021
These scholarships are open to incoming freshmen who will be able to attend a scheduled virtual competition event at Webster Groves campus on February 13, 2021. They shall be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course offered in the Fall and Spring semesters only.
The applicant must meet two of the following criteria:
Must have obtained a cumulative GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale
Must have scored a minimum composite score of 27 in ACT or 1260 in SAT
Must rank among the top 20% of their high school graduating class
Value: Full tuition - Renewable
Deadline: January 18, 2021
Apart from these scholarships, the university also offers several scholarships to transfer students. In addition, international students can also look for scholarships on additional resources such as Edupass, Fastweb, Abroadplanet and Collegeboard.
