History, Affiliations & Rankings
The establishment of Federation University is dated back to 1870 as The School of Mines Ballarat (SMB). It was affiliated to the University of Melbourne from 1887 to 1894. After many amendments and establishment of new schools over the years, the Federation University Australia was finally founded in 2014. Today, Federation University is the largest educational institute in regional Victoria.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The university has multiple campuses, which are situated in Ballarat, Berwick, Brisbane, Gippsland and the Wimmera. It provides an appropriate environment for study and research work for students from around the world. The university has over 1300 staff who are committed to guide the students in their academic and personal growth. International students planning to study at Federation University can apply for accommodation facilities in the campus as well in locations close to the university. They can also apply for an accommodation scholarship to live on the university campus.

Federation University is committed to offer study programmes that will help the graduates meet the needs of the industries and companies. It has partnerships with around 3000 industries, which consist of MNCs, ASX 100 companies and small and medium sized enterprises. These networks of industries offer placement opportunities to the graduates. Students also have the option to join internship placement programmes, which are designed to help the graduates understand the workplace environment and join an organisation with full-confidence and the necessary skills.
