The University of Kansas has been developing plans to reopen its campus for the fall semester. It is all set to welcome back all students with the Protect KU plan in place. Addressing concerns related to COVID-19, the university has taken the following steps:

  • International applicants from COVID-affected regions will be assisted by the university in meeting application deadlines and providing all requirements.

  • To increase the number of in-person classes. However, the universities would deliver classes in multiple formats i.e. in-person, online and/or a hybrid approach.

  • Testing and contact tracing will be key to a thoughtful and science-based return to campus in the fall.

  • Residential facilities and dining centers on campus will remain open for the fall semester, and physical distancing and other health and safety measures will be promoted in each building.

  • In case English language testing centres are not open, international students can take Duolingo English.

  • The university is currently not scheduling on-campus visits and connecting with prospective students through a phone or video call, virtual tours and social media.

  • Online enrollment options are being introduced for students who are unable to leave their home country.
