Northern College is a public college for Applied Arts and Technology education in Northern Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 1967 during the formation of Ontario's College System. The college is also called the Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology. The vision of Northern College is to offer great quality and standard of education through innovative & intensive learning programmes and partnerships with institutions and organizations across the globe. To achieve the desired goal, Northern College team members work collaboratively to achieve excellence in quality education, innovation, services through association with different organisations along with partnerships with various institutes and employers.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Northern College offers over 75 full-time, part-time, diploma, certificate and apprenticeship programmes in different areas of study like business, health care, technology, business, social and economic development, human services and trades. The academic programmes and other services are offered at four campuses of Northern College, i.e. Haileybury Campus, Kirkland Lake Campus, Moosonee Campus and Timmins Campus. Apart from the academic programmes, the Northern College also offers career-entrance preparation programmes and academic upgrading programmes. The college campuses include a well-built infrastructure with the latest technology, state of art and well-equipped laboratories, computer labs, library, book stores and much more.
Accomplishments & Alumni
Northern College has an innovation hub hosted by the Department of Applied Research, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, which is developed to provide innovative solutions through R&D and support creative entrepreneurs. Knowledge, technology and business minds are enhanced for discoveries, services and developments at Northern College. The research and teaching programmes at Northern College are supported by students, faculty, staff as well as alumni members of Northern College. Northern College has an Alumni community that allows the alma mater of the university to stay connected with their classmates, faculty and other university members. It also acts as a platform to share employment opportunities, job posts and share personal and professional experiences with others members of the community. The members can also benefit from different services such as discount programmes, events, funds, memberships, products & services at discounted rates etc.

Northern College also makes sure to provide various services and learning paths to students to match their needs. The college is open to build relationships and expand its services. Students are encouraged to explore ideas and share their opinions and suggestions that help them in intellectual growth and personality development. Northern College has performed exceptionally well in the performance survey conducted by Key Performance Indicators (KPI) which is used to measure the performance of colleges in Ontario by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development. As per the KPI data of Northern College for the 2016- 2017 academic year, the Graduate Employment Rate of Northern College was reported to be at 84.8% while Employer Satisfaction was reported at 89.5%.
