Walk-in Inquiries:

IIM Lucknow has released its admission policy for 2021-23 batch of PGP, PGP-ABM and PGP-SM. Students can now find out the shortlisting and final selection criteria for 2021 admissions at IIM Lucknow. The 2021 selection criteria of IIM Lucknow will be the same as last year. WAT is a part of the this year's selection process for IIM Lucknow and has been provided a weightage of 10 marks.
In order to take admission into PGPM course offered by IIM Lucknow, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD categories) or equivalent CGPA from a recognized institute or university.
Candidates aspiring to take admission in IIM Lucknow will have to clear minimum CAT cutoff set by the Institute. Based on the CAT scores, IIM Lucknow generates a merit list basis which candidates will be called for Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Factors such as performance in class 10th and 12th board exams, work experience and diversity are also considered in the process. The admission process is done in the following two stages:
Stage 1: Shortlisting Candidates for WAT and PI
CAT 2021 scores and previous academic record of candidates are evaluated to shortlist them for stage 1. For the PG-SM course offered by the institute, candidates must have a minimum work experience of 24 months.

NOTE: Maximum marks for diversity in academic disciplines cannot exceed 20. Also, candidates seeking admission in PGP-ABM/PGP-SM programmes have to fill up the special form of PGP-ABM/PGP-SM to be considered for the WAT and PI stage.
Evaluation of the above components is dome as follows:
1. Scaled CAT Score (CS): This is determined with the help of the highest CAT score of the year. Following is the formula of evaluating:
CS = (Candidate’s CAT Score/Highest CAT score of the year) x A; where A = 60
2. Score in Class 12 Board Exam: Candidates are allotted weights for score class 12th board as per the following table:

3. Marks secured in Graduation: Performance in graduation is normalized according to the discipline of the candidate such as Engineering, Science, Commerce, Arts, etc. It is evaluated using the formula given below.
Graduation Marks = [ { ((Candidate’s percentage in Graduation – u)/p) x (50/3) } + 50 ] x 0.1
Where, u = mean deviation of respective academic discipline;
p = standard deviation of respective academic discipline
Marks will be evaluated between 0 to 10.
4. Work Experience: This component is evaluated according to the table given below:

Here ‘m’ is the number of months counted as work experience counted till the day the CAT notification of the year is released.

6. Diversity Factors (gender): Diversity factor is considered to maintain equilibrium in the number of male and female students in the courses mentioned courses. Female students applying for the above-mentioned courses are given a 5 as gender diversity weight and all others are awarded zero.
