NLU Delhi Admissions 2023

On December 23, 2022, the Consortium of NLUs released the CLAT 2023 results. By entering the registration page, candidates can download their CLAT 2023 scorecard in digital format. The CLAT top scorer obtained 116.75 points. While the CLAT LLM top scorer received 95.25. On December 20, 2022, the final CLAT 2023 answer key was made public. The rank list will be made public by the consortium by the final week of December 2022. On December 18 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, it held an offline CLAT 2023 exam. Candidates willing to take admission in NLU Delhi LLM or LLB course can check the important dates of CLAT exams 2023.

The CLAT 2023 will be the exclusive admissions process for the 5-year combined LLM and LL.B. programmes that begin in the academic year 2023–2024. NLU Delhi CLAT 2023 Cut off usually ranges between 95-100 for the general category while for SC/ST category CLAT 2023 Cut off usually ranges between 80-85. Based on the previous year’s analysis, NLU Delhi CLAT 2023 Cutoff candidates can check their eligibility.  

The NLU Delhi CLAT 2023 Counseling registration process will begin, probably, by January 2023, according to the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). Candidates who are invited can register for CLAT 2023 Counseling by going to the official website. Through the login page, you can finish the CLAT Counseling registration.

NLU Delhi Application Process 2023

The application process for all the law programmes available at NLU Delhi entails the following steps:

  • Visit the official website of NLU Delhi.
  • Click on "Apply Online" mentioned on the website or the information brochure. 
  • Fill the details into the User Registration Form
  • Confirm the details on the form by clicking on the "Confirm" button.
  • After logging in, click on NLU from the list of colleges. 
  • Choose your application form and click on the "Apply" button.
  • Fill the details mentioned in the form.
  • Click "submit" and make the payment online. 
  • Entrance Exam Fee: SC/ST and Persons with disability - Rs.1050, Unreserved/ Foreign Nationals - Rs.3050.00

NLU Delhi B.A.LL.B (Hons) Eligibility Criteria 2023

Find the eligibility criteria for B.A.LL.B (Hons.) below:

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination.
  • The aggregate should not be less than 50% of the total marks. 
  • The foreign national and OCI/PIO candidates are eligible to apply, provided they have qualified 10+2 or equivalent with not less than 65% marks in aggregate.
  • Foreign nationals are not eligible to take the admission test. Candidates belonging to PIO/OCI categories must have the option to either apply under the Foreign National Category or under the category of Indian students.
  • In the case of OCI/PIO candidates who are applying under the category of Indian national, taking the AILET is a must.

LU Delhi LL.M Eligibility Criteria 2023

Candidates must fulfil the below-mentioned criteria to be eligible for the LL.M course offered by NLU Delhi:

  • Must have passed LL.B or an equivalent degree from a recognised university.
  • Must have obtained not less than 55% marks in aggregate. 
  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories, the minimum pass percentage is 50% marks in aggregate. 
  • Candidates awaiting results or appearing in the qualifying exam may also apply.
  • Foreign Nationals category candidates shall be exempted from appearing for AILET. 

NLU Delhi B.A.LL.B (Hons) and LL.M Selection Process 2023

  • Admission of candidates for B.A.LL.B (Hons) and LL.M shall be done on the basis of their performance in All India Law Entrance Test (AILET).

NLU Delhi PhD Eligibility Criteria 2023

To be admitted to the candidature for the doctoral programme:

  • The candidate must have obtained a Master's degree in Law (LL.M) or equivalent recognized by the statutory regulatory body with at least 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution approved by an authority established. The same may be incorporated under a law in his/her home country or any statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring the quality and standards of educational institutions. For those belonging to SC/ST/differently-abled candidates, 5% relaxation will be given as per the UGC regulations that are amended from time to time. 
  • The candidate who has a degree in law and is qualified for the Company Secretary examination organized by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and given the Associate Membership of the institute shall also be eligible.
  • Aspirants who have a degree in law and have passed the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) final exam will also be considered eligible for admission. 
  • If the candidate is a Judge of any State High Court of India with three years of experience or a Judge of the Supreme Court of India will also be eligible for PhD. 
  • 8 seats shall be given on the basis of merit through AILET 2020 and 2 seats will be given through direct admission to Foreign Nationals on the merit of Research proposals evaluation. 

NLU Delhi PhD Selection Process 2023

Admission or selection of PhD aspirants shall be through a three-step process:

  • Written entrance test
  • Evaluation of research proposals 
  • Interview/viva voce

In this procedure, 70% weightage shall be given to the entrance test and 30% to the evaluation and interview/viva-voce.

The National Law University (NLU), Delhi, does not offer the programme of Bachelor of Law (LL.B). The university only provides integrated law courses at the undergraduate level. No National Law University (NLU) offers the course of LL.B and only 5 year integrated UG law courses are provided for admission.

There are many law colleges in Delhi offering LL.B that you can consider for admission. You can fill the Common Application Form (CAF) to find the most ideal law college for yourself. Through CAF, you can apply to several colleges with just one application form, free of cost.
