Government Law college - GLC Mumbai - GLC

The Government Law College (GLC), university of Mumbai is one of the oldest law colleges of India offering courses in the domain of Law. The institute's existence traces back to the year 1855, when the state of formal and legal education in India was very poor. GLC Mumbai enjoys national and international reputation for excellence. This institute has worked in the privileged guidance of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Justice M.C.Chaglak, Nani Palkhivala,  Lokmanya Tilak, and several others who have adorned benches of the Supreme Court of India and the Bombay High Court. GLC was earlier known as Government law school, but further, the name was changed to Government law college. The faculty members are highly qualified and of high repute. The institute has a number of aluminas working in reputed places. The fulcrum of the college has been its well qualified and dedicated visiting faculty who besides being successful professionals, make time to share their knowledge with the students, and the freedom enjoyed by students to work while in college. The GLC campus has a basketball court and a mini gymkhana at the back of the auditorium (for table tennis, carom, etc.). However, students use the nearby Oval Maidan or Mumbai University ground for sports such as cricket and football. The college has an active Sports Committee, and students participate in several inter-collegiate competitions across the country.
