Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College (DDUC) New Delhi Campus & Infrastructure
Infrastructure and Learning Resources – Built on a plot of 7.7 acres in Sector 3, Dwarka the new campus of the college is a state of the art building. It is a multistory building (basement + 7 floors) with many features of a green building. Rain water harvesting system and water recycling plant are already in place. We intend to use the roof tops for generation of solar power and install a waste treatment plant for addressing the issues of bio-waste disposal.
The campus has the following facilities available in this complex - Parking in basement and also on the surface, Indoor Squash Court & Badminton Court, Facility for Table Tennis, Carrom Board and Gymnasium, An archery range, Boys common room, Girls common room, Medical room, Two seminar rooms, Auditorium, Boys Hostel, Girls Hostel, Guest House, Air conditioned Dining Hall in the Mess of each hostel, Air conditioned Cafeteria, Full Power back up of 1000 KW. The college has twelve well laid-out lecture halls that have seating capacity of 70 each, 36 lecture rooms having capacity of 40-60 and 2 seminar rooms with a capacity of 100-150 each. Each hall also has the latest audio visual teaching aids. The College has three computer laboratories with over 140 computers of the latest configuration and internet facility through the Delhi University optical fiber connection. The laboratories are being fully equipped with the latest multimedia equipment including LCD projectors and will also have facilities for Video-Editing, Image Editing, Animation, Audio-Editing and Authoring Tools. There are three Physics laboratories and three Electronic laboratories which have state-of- the-art equipments to conduct experiments. These laboratories are equipped with CRO's, Function Generators, Micro-processor Kits, Digital Storage Oscilloscopes (Tektronix), Arbitrary Function Generators (Tektronix), Computers, Spectrometers, besides other equipments including: Hall effect set-up, Michelson Interferometer, Laser Kits, Optical fiber kits etc. To conduct experiments in Life Sciences, there are two Museums containing various specimens and models and two laboratories each of Botany and Zoology, well equipped with latest instruments that include Microscopes having 15000 x magnifications. For Chemistry there are three laboratories of which, one is an Analytical Technique Laboratory equipped with instruments like Flame Photometer, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Scanning Visible Spectrophotometer.
The Campus has centrally Air Conditioned Computer Centre on the second floor of C block, with a capacity of about 200 users to promote network based knowledge and learning. The ICT infrastructure consists of a server, desktops and a gigabit fiber backbone which provides 24x7 dedicated Internet connectivity through WLAN (Wi-Fi) and LAN.

Students Activities & Clubs
The inaugural lecture was delivered by the noted wildlife biologist Dr. Faiyaz Ahmad Khudsar on “The Challenges to Biodiversity” with special reference to the environmental laws pertaining to conservation of Asiatic lion in Indiain September, 2015. To commemorate the World Sparrow Day, a group of 120 students visited and observed different species of birds at Sultanpur National Park (Erstwhile Bird Sanctuary) on March 19, 2016. They got an opportunity to see different migratory birds and their exposure to various threats while visiting the National Park. A cleanliness and environmental awareness drive was also organized in nearby areas of the college campus on February3, 2016.
The Robotics Club organized three workshops conducted by in house faculty members of the club during 2015-16. First, a three-day workshop was conducted on“FireBird V” in the month of August 2015. Other twowereon “Getting started with Arduino”in the months of January andFebruary, 2016 respectively. The workshop activities stimulated the learning of the participants and someexciting projects were built by students afterwards.
A trekking cum adventure trip of six days from24th to 29th September 2015 was organized to Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves. Valley of Flowers National Park is located in West Himalaya, Uttarakhand, India. At 3352 to 3658 meters above sea level, the gentle landscape of the Valley of Flowers National Park has rugged mountain wilderness of Nanda Devi National Park to the east. A group of 22 students from various disciplines accompanied by faculty members enjoyed the meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora.
The Finance Club in association with Eptitude organized a two-day event ‘Financial Conclave 2.0’ in the month of August, 2015. Mr. AbhishekAnand and Mr. AnandVenkatesan, both the alumni of IIMs, assisted the participants in learning how to crack a case study and guided them in honingtheir analytical and reasoning abilities.
Finanza’16, two day annual fest of the society was organized on 11th and 12th March, 2016 with a participation of more than 100 students from various colleges of University of Delhi. It provided a juncture to the participants to assess their knowledge and skill in business, financial and economic arenas. It had four major events: Capitalist Bulls- the Mock Stock Competition, Financial Monopoly, Investocrats and the All India Business Conclave.
During the academic session 2015-16, the annual photography workshop is being conducted by MrHemantUppal. More than fifty students registered for the workshop. The students showcased their talent through the exhibitions put up during Silver jubilee celebrations andannual cultural festival of the college Kalrav’16.
The fresh batch of students was exposed to practical training under the supervision of senior student members of the society. They covered a number of Intra College activities held during the year. Some of the students covered events organized by other colleges of University of Delhi.
Throughout the year, the society organized a number of competitions as a part of variouscollege events. The members participated in more than twenty inter college photography competitions organized by other Colleges of University of Delhi. SugamMavi of B.A. (H) Eng III Yr won Best Photographer Award in International Press Category in DDUC MUN (August 2015).
