Spread over 172 acres of land, NIT Andhra Pradesh started to function out of the temporary campus from 10 September 2015. The infrastructure of this institute is worth Rs 400 crore that was sanctioned to it by the Ministry of Human Development. NIT AP campus is in the process of constructing a compound wall around the college.
Due to its proximity to the railway station and great transportation reach, the college is ideal for the outstation students. Tadepalligudem is the nearest railway station on Vijayawada – Visakhapatnam mainline. Buses and auto-rickshaws are available all the time. The nearest airport is approx sixty kilometres away from the town where NIT Andhra Pradesh is situated.
NIT AP is a 100 per cent residential college so, it provides hostel facility to all the 480 students as per the intake. The institute has four girls’ hostels for students studying in the first, second, third and fourth year of their graduation and five boys’ hostels for the students studying in the first, second, third, fourth and fifth year of B.Tech. The mess of the hostels provides hygienic food to its students.
The central library of NIT Andhra Pradesh is an iconic building on the campus. The library currently has 14,000 volumes of books and has subscribed to more than 55 print journals and magazines in all subject areas that are relevant to the courses offered by the institute.
NIT Andhra Pradesh has three computer labs equipped with 170 desktops altogether. The institute also provides transportation facility to the students studying in hostel.
