Overall: College life Chandigarh University's college life is one that every student admires. Our university strikes the right balance between academics and the socialisation of students. While academics remain the most important factor in entire college life, interesting events and seminars are also taken care of. National and international convocations are held on the campus. Esteemed personalities act as speakers in such summits. Moreover, multiple concerts, Bollywood nights, celebrity visits, etc. take place. Some famous singers that visited the campus were Diljit Dosanjh, Bhumi Trivedi, Gurdaas Maan, etc. Apart from this, renowned personalities like Kapil Sharma, Siddharth Malhotra, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, and many more paid their visits to the Chandigarh University campus. Situated in a pollution-free and positive environment, students of the university feel satisfied with their college life. Academics Academics are taken very seriously at the university and despite the lively atmosphere of the college, there is no compromise on it. I am myself an MBA pass out and completed my MBA in 2021. The university offers a wide range of courses in more than 180 streams. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level courses. My MBA admission was based on certain eligibility criteria. For MBA admissions, the student has to attain a minimum of 45 to 60 per cent in their graduation. The second requirement was to clear the Chandigarh University Entrance Exam. I luckily fulfilled both the criteria and got admission. The MBA course duration was 2 years and the fees vary as per the specialisation we choose. Several MBA specialisations are offered. Some of the common ones are MBA in Digital Marketing, Banking and Financial Engineering (in association with SBI and Tally), International Relations, Marketing, Human Resources etc. Some of the MBA courses are in collaboration with famous institutions such as SBI, Tally, UpGrad, and, IBM The fees approximately range from Rs 28,000 to Rs 3,00,000. Placements The Chandigarh University placements rate is very good. Students are groomed for the placement process throughout their courses and special emphasis is given during the final year. I was pursuing MBA in Marketing from the university. We were groomed and trained for the corporate world constantly. Our faculty along with the Training and Placement Cell gave their valuable insights to us. They also conducted group discussions, mock interviews, career counselling sessions, and personality development sessions. The highest placement package goes up to Rs 52 lakh per annum, while the average package stands at Rs 8 lakh per annum. Many national and international companies were visiting the campus as soon as the placement drive started. Some of the top recruiters that participated in the Chandigarh University placements were Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte, IBM, Adobe, etc. It was up to the students how dedicatedly could they perform in their interviews and bag a position with such reputed organisations. I got a placement offer from Deloitte. Value for money In my opinion, Chandigarh University offers complete value for money. The faculty, staff, curriculum, placement cell, students, and events, together make it a university that all students desire. Additionally, it is rare to see a perfect academic and socialisation balance which is easily maintained at the university.
