On positive aspect it is a place that offers various kinds of opportunities like exposure, participation in various hackathons, workshops and we can get to connect with many people. On academic perspective is has classrooms having both whiteboard and projectors which helps students to understand concepts better, also the course structure is planned accordingly to the required industry needs. On negative aspect it has strict rules regarding attendance (75%), they take fees only on cash even though their is option for online fee payment but that never works, as it has huge campus walking from one place to other takes time event though e-rickshaws are available but they take money.
Placement: As I am in 3rd semester therefore I don't know much about real time placement but I can tell some points. Many famous companies do visit our college like IBM, Microsoft, Adobe, Goggle, etc. They offer a good amount of package.
Infrastructure: It as well designed huge and modern infrastructure with including all kinds of necessary places like food and restaurants, stationeries, eating points, ATMs and many more. It also have libraries in every block with 2 main central library which offers all kind of facilities of free WIFI, every kind of books and many more.
Faculty: The faculties are very much friendly, always ready to help students in their situation either academic or personal. They have good knowledge of their subject and highly professional in teaching. This all above applies for only some faculties not all.
Hostel: I have not opted for hostel facilities but there are some points I can tell based on other student's perspective. There are 4 and 5 seater rooms, the food is ok ok not much good, they serve one kind of food with different names.
Overall: I am having a good life at Chandigarh University. The support they are giving is really helpful. The only problem I face is the online payment system dosnt work properly.
Placement: The reality is companies are coming and they are hiring students who are skilled. My senior got a placement of 26LPA. And he said that placement cell helped him a lot.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is also too good. We get wifi facilities all over the campus and the classes are smart classes with having plugs on each each classes.
Faculty: Some teachers just read from the slides and many dont give number till the end so that student dont come and ask to increase their numbers. But some teachers are good.
Hostel: The hostel environment is too good they have each and every facilities available , from gym to cafeterias , everything is available for free, for the students who have opted for hostel.
Overall: The overall experience was too good, I met a lot of peoples here who helped me in growing and supported me everytime , they are really helpful. The curriculum is also good.
Placement: Yes, companies are coming and they are hiring at a good package, the highest package is of 54LPA and the average is 12LPA. The placement cell prepare us properly for the same.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure here is too good. The wifi facilities is all over the campus and student can use it for free and there are smart classes , every bench have plugs.
Faculty: The Teachers here are really helpful and they help us in every aspects of life, but some teachers here seems to be too bias and give less marks if there ego get hurt.
Hostel: The hostel life is really memorable , we enjoy in hostel , I met many students here and we have fun all the time, Changing hostel is also easy if there is room available.
Overall: The university is good in my opinion if you want to grow and start a startup it will always help you in that and the environment here is also too good we get to met like minded peoples.
Placement: I have heard it from my seniors that yes companies are coming and they are giving good packages and they come with their own criteria and student have to meet the criteria otherwise they cant sit in exams.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is also too good and the classes are smart classes with wifi facility all over the campus and there are charging points on each desk .
Faculty: Teachers are good in many ways they are really helpful when I need their help and they are too humble and polite their guidene always helped me to look froward and stay motivated.
Hostel: The hostel life is really memorable, It never feels like I am away from my home the food is also good, and we geta gym also and the timings are also good for students.
Overall: I am from BE-CSE second year and the fees is 136000 per semester and they start asking for fees before then end of semester and the semester is too short and complete to early.
Placement: The placement is good hear , many companies are coming here and hiring students on the basis of there own criteria and rounds some just have technical rounds while other just have interviews and filteration.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is too good without any problem it is the best one i have ever seen in my life. We get wifi, cafetaria, sports complex and many other faciliteis .
Faculty: The teachers are good but many teachers are just reading the slides and dont give any idea or learning of the main topic they just read it but many teachers here are truly knowledgeable from IIT's and NIT's.
Hostel: The food here is good not too much good. The hostel have a barber shop, cafe , kirana store, laundry , gym (dont have to pay for the gym) and the playing area.
Overall: I am a first year student joined in 2025 the semester started in july 20 with the orientation, the orientation was too good with proper facilities. The campus is too good and big , the events are organize on a daily basis and the people here are to humble.
Placement: One of my seniors told me that the companies are coming here and hiring students also but you must be skilled and met the criteria set by them and we have to opt for tpp in order to sit in the placement drive otherwise we cant sit in the placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is too good. Every class have AC and all the classes are smart classes with plugs on each benches. The water availability on each floor is also there. The wifi is also in many parts of the campus for students and there are too many cafeterias and hangout area and all are well maintained.
Faculty: Some teachers just read the ppt slides and dont teach properly while there are some teacher who teaches each and every part properly with full understanding and there guiedence help us a lot our academics.
Hostel: The food here is too good and we get variety of foods here and also good snacks everyday. The gym is also provided with a good timing and every hostel have its own gym and if we dont want to eat mess food cafe and shops are also there and you can get haircut in the hostel itself there is a shop also for that.
Overall: I am from BE-CSE and our semester fees is 136000 (joining year 2024) and now for 2025 batch it is 146000, increased by 10000rs. If a student want to go with campus placement they have to pay 12000 just once and if they want to go with other career options they can choose other program as well and is a student dont want to opt any of these he/she can do that. I dont like when they ask for money of the next semester in two months ago. The people I found here were too good and supportive and I formed a good network here they also provide us assistance at each and every steps. If you have any problem related to academics or personal life they are there for you to help you in that without any cost. They also organize huge events like technicia in which a lot of events are being conducted ad you can enter any event of your choice , you also get chance to organize event , be a part of clubs or form clubs. There is lot of area for the students who are interested in sports, you can also get a chance to represent yourself and get medals and many more. There are lot of thing that you can do start your startup, file patents (patent filing is free for CU students) and a lot more benefits
Placement: The highest package from this university is 54LPA. The average package is around 12LPA. A lot of companies are coming here every year. The placement department will also be helping the TPP student all over the course, so that everyone get placed in a good company. Company come with there own criteria some just want above 7, 7.5 or 8 while other wants above 75% or 80% in boards. Yes, Thats true that lot of companies are coming. One of my seniors told me that you must be skilled and have a good communications skills (he got a package of 22LPA). Now I am following his guidence.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is really good. All the classes have AC and they are all smart classes (with charging points on each bench). But one thing i dont like was that the photos that are shown was of D-block that look more cool and great and I got a simple building although it is good having all the facility but sometimes it feels paying all this money but still cant sit on those movie type looking classes.
Faculty: Sometimes I feel like I am paying a lot of money and the teacher is just reading the slides and doing nothing and after the exam they dont check well and when we tell them that our answer is correct sometimes they just ignore and say sorry beta sorry. If I want to go the library the staff there is too bad they are shouting and talking with each other like it is a park. They also have a oven in there, sometimes when I am studying at library there are making food there it's ok but just keep quiet they are serving each other loudly ,laughing and all. I am studying while my stomach is empty and then they do this more than that they make more noice then the students itself. But not all teachers who are teaching are like this some are really intelligent and gives good insight of a topic and there teaching just get feed in our mind.
Hostel: In the starting the food was good actually good but later after some time they are repeating the same thing and it is not that much good sometimes. We get breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. The cost starts from 106000 per year (depending on the room size and ac/non-ac).There is many facility provided like gym, library, ground, cafeteria and much more. There is no time bounding you can see your friends at any time in any hostel and spend time with them, no problem in that.
