Chandigarh University student, Nikhil, has emerged as a rising star in Indian boxing, securing a gold medal at the ASBC Asian Junior Boys Boxing Championship 2023 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The 19-year-old Patiala resident has been honing his skills at the university, which is known for nurturing sporting talent. Despite his humble background, with his father working in the private sector and his mother a homemaker, Nikhil has made significant strides in the national boxing arena, winning five gold medals in various national championships. He is a two-time National Junior Champion in the 52 weight category and a three-time champion in the 57 weight category. In 2022, Nikhil also won a bronze medal at the 40th Golden Glove of the Vojvodina Youth Boxing Tournament in Serbia. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at Chandigarh University, Nikhil has been boxing for eight years and is training in Pune for the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 and Youth Boxing Championships in Astana.

Chandigarh University recently hosted the much-awaited Game of Code 2024 Season 2.0, a thrilling coding event that saw participation from coding enthusiasts across the region. The event served as a platform for coders of all skill levels to showcase their talents and compete in a series of dynamic challenges. Renowned YouTuber, motivational speaker, and founder of CodeHelp, Love Babbar, was present at the event. Chandigarh University has consistently demonstrated its excellence by securing impressive rankings in the QS Asia Rankings, QS World University Rankings 2023, and the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

The latest edition of the QS World University Rankings places Chandigarh University at the top spot among all private universities in India. Along with this, Chandigarh University has made a leap in global rankings and now stands at 771-780 among the world's leading higher education institutions. 

QS World University Rankings 2024, is a highly regarded ranking that encompasses 1,500 institutions across 104 locations. This sought-after ranking stands out from others by placing significant importance on employability and sustainability factors. The latest edition introduces three new metrics—Sustainability, Employment Outcomes, and International Research Network—significantly enhancing the evaluation methodology to provide a comprehensive assessment of universities worldwide.

Chandigarh University held its annual convocation on June 9th 2023 and the chief guest for this programme was former President of India Ram Nath Kovind. More than 1400 students were awarded undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD degrees during the annual convocation out of them 45% are women. Further to this, 35 students have been conferred Gold Medals. Out of them 22 were girls and 13 were boys.  

While addressing the annual convocation, former President Ram Nath Kovind said, “Chandigarh University has built a good reputation as one of the premier institutions of India within a short span of 11 years, owing to which it has been ranked among the Top Universities of the World. 

Chandigarh University placement 2023 for Chemical Engineering is ongoing. 5 students from the Chemical Engineering branch were placed at renowned organisations with the help of faculty and training and placement cell at the University. 

Mr Prashun Kumar Jha, who has been placed in TATA Consulting Engineers Ltd, Mr Aditya Tiwari, who has been placed in UpGrad Abroad, Ms Vanshika Chabra, who has been placed in DXC Technology, Ms Nikita Sharma, who has been selected for a position at Haldor Topsoe, and Mr Komalpreet Singh, who has been placed in C&E,  are the students who have secured these placements. 

The Vice-Chancellor of Chandigarh University extended her heartiest congratulations to the students. Chandigarh University placement 2023 -24 is continuing at present. Like every year this year blue-chip companies have also shown a keen interest in hiring students across multiple departments. This year a total of 101 students from the MCA department got placement so far out of them 24 MCA students specialized in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. These students have secured good placements with leading multinational companies.

Chandigarh University Offers Specialization Course in Cloud Computing With Virtusa

Chandigarh University has become one of the very few Universities in Punjab to offer a specialization course in Cloud Computing with IT Giant, Virtusa. Chandigarh University Signs MoU with the Education Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India 

Chandigarh University (CU), well-known for having the highest number of international partners in education has signed an academic MoU with the  Education Divison of Taipei Economic & Cultural Centre in India. The Taipei Economic & Cultural Centre, India is the representative office of Taiwan in the country and also acts as a de facto embassy. The MoU was signed in the presence of CU management and the delegation from Taiwan's representative office. The MoU will help the students get familiar with new and possible opportunities. Chandigarh University Student Becomes First Indian Entry in Para-Taekwondo at Tokyo Paralympics

Chandigarh University has achieved a bigger milestone, as one of its students Aruna Tanwar becomes the first Indian entry in Para-Taekwondo at Tokyo Paralympics that are scheduled to be held from August 24 to September 5. Aruna Ranwar is already a two-time World Champion who hailed from a Haryanvi Village, Dinod. Despite having three fingers in each hand and arms not fully formed, Aruna Tanwar had a keenness in athletics martial arts. The 21-year-old Aruna is world No. 4 in the Women's U-49 category. Tanwar went onto winning medals in a string of international events, including a Silver medal in the 2018 Asian Para-Taekwondo Championship in Vietnam and Bronze at the World Championship in Antalya, Turkey. 

Chandigarh University Launches Satellite Designing Programme

Chandigarh University has launched the Student Satellite Designing and Training program ‘CUSAT’. The programme is exclusively for students in the field of aerospace engineering. As a part of the programme, the students will undergo training under the guidance of former Indian and international spaces scientists.

The inauguration of the programme was held virtually. Many renowned scientists and professionals of the respective field including ISRO Scientist Dr. YS Ranjan, Former ISRO Director M Vasagam, and Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, Program Director of Chandrayaan-1 and Mangalyaan, also known as the Moon Man of India were a part of the virtual inauguration ceremony.

Chandigarh University is planning to design a multipurpose nano-satellite within 10-12 months which will be launched by the ISRO. University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu informed that Rs. 1 crore will be spent for designing the satellite for which the training of students has already started.

Chandigarh University Students Placed in Zee Media, Placement Talk on 23rd April

Two graduates of Chandigarh University's Institute of Media Studies - Amritpal and Vishali have been placed in Zee Media, one of the leading and digital and mass media organizations. Recently, almost 5000 students of CU placed in several companies, and the highest salary went up to Rs. 35 Lakh per annum. Amritpal and Vishali will join a live session as a part of the Chandigarh University Placement Talk on Friday, April 23, 2021. The young journalists will share their success stories, and the event is being organized virtually. Chandigarh University AI Specialisation Courses

Chandigarh University has launched various AI specialisation UG and PG courses. Chandigarh University offers B.E CSE with specialisation in AI and Machine Learning. The AI course at university presents a robust foundation in the major AI technologies. The state-of-the-art industry-sponsored

Chandigarh University alumni Sambav Bhasin who has begun his professional legal career will share his experiences and talk about his journey in the field of law. Chandigarh University is organising an influencer talk with innovator Rishi Raj on 24th February at 6:00 pm. He is the third year CSE student of the university who will talk about creativity and how to turn ideas into reality. Rishabh Raj is an innovator by passion who already has 24+ Patents to his name. One of his many unique innovations has been a Keyboard designed to fit various different sizes.

Chandigarh University to Organise Live Placement Talk Session

Chandigarh University to conduct a live placement talk session with a Microsoft placed student Pranshu on 19th February 2021. The live session will be held at social media handles of the university. Chandigarh University CSE Student Pranshu who bagged a job opportunity from Microsoft will talk about the journey and will provide insights about the same. The live placement talk session will guide the students on how to secure a placement in top blue-chip companies.

Chandigarh University Organizes International Webinar on Global Challenges of Modern Times

Chandigarh University has organized a one-of-its-kind and largest international webinar, which witnessed the participation of globally recognized legal professionals. The webinar had the participation of esteemed Judges from the Supreme Court of India. The webinar took place on January 30 & 31, 2021. The theme of this international webinar was 'Global Challenges of Modern Times', which is further divided into four topics. Faculty & students from a number of universities across the globe participated in the webinar. 

The morning session of the webinar took place from 9:30 AM to 11:55 AM, while the afternoon session took place from 2:50 PM to 4:50 PM.
