DIT University Admission 2026

DIT University 2026 admissions are open for UG, PG, and PhD programmes across all 9 schools. DIT University applications form 2026 are accepted at applications.dituniversity.edu.in. DIT counselling for UG and PG courses will commence on May 30, 2026, onwards.

DIT University offers three routes to admission. The first is through a national or state entrance exam, JEE Main for B.Tech, NATA for B.Arch, CAT, XAT, MAT, or CMAT for MBA, GATE for M.Tech, and GPAT or UKSEE for M.Pharm. 

The second is DUET (DIT University Entrance Test), an offline test conducted on campus, available for any programme where a student does not hold a national exam score. The third is direct merit-based admission, where Class 12 or graduation marks determine selection without any exam, applicable for B.Des, BCA, B.Sc, B.A, M.Sc, and M.A. 

DIT University PhD admission requires candidates to hold a Master's degree with 55% marks or a CGPA 6.0 in the relevant field. GATE, UGC-NET, or SLET qualified candidates go directly to a Personal Interview on campus. Candidates without these qualifications must first appear in DUET, followed by the same Personal Interview. Final selection is based on interview performance. 

Additionally, students who have scored 95% or above in Class 12 PCM are eligible for direct B.Tech admission without appearing in JEE Main, under the board topper quota of 10% reserved seats.

DIT University 2026 admissions are on a rolling basis; applications are accepted year-round, with no fixed hard deadline for most courses. DIT University UG Eligibility Criteria 2026

Students need 50% in Class 12 for most courses. B.Tech requires 60% with Physics & Maths, while BArch needs 45% plus NATA/JEE Paper 2. Maths is compulsory for BCA, and Biology is required for Nursing. 

Students can apply without entrance exams and submit scores later. Students with 95%+ PCM get a direct B.Tech admission (10% seats). Class 12 appearing students can apply provisionally.

DIT University PG Eligibility Criteria 2026

A graduation degree with 50% is required for most courses. M.Tech needs 60%, and M.Pharm needs 55%. MBA accepts students from any stream, but other courses require relevant backgrounds. Final-year students can also apply.

DIT University PhD Eligibility Criteria 2026

Requires a Master’s with 55%. Candidates with GATE, NET, or SRF qualifications are preferred, but DUET is accepted for those without a national qualification. An interview is mandatory for all applicants.

DIT University UK State Benefit

Students with Uttarakhand (or an eligible Himalayan state) domicile get 25% fee concession + reserved seats, if documents are submitted on time.

Key Rules: Students must pass required subjects individually. Improvement marks are accepted (same board only). Open school students can apply but won’t get first-year scholarships.

Reservation Policy

10% seats reserved for Class 12 Board Toppers (direct admission). 10% seats for NRI/Sponsored. 40% seats for Uttarakhand domicile candidates. 50% seats for the All India category.

DIT University admission runs through a single online portal at applications.dituniversity.edu.in, for every programme from B.Tech to PhD. The core process has 6 stages. What changes between courses are the entrance exam used in Stage 3 and the selection round in Stage 5. Everything else is the same.

Stage 1: Register on the Application Portal

• Visit the DIT University official website at applications.dituniversity.edu.in. Click New Application and register with your name, email ID, and mobile number. An OTP verifies your mobile. Login credentials are emailed to you.
• Don't use the iNxt ERP portal (diterp.dituniversity.edu.in) for this — that's only for enrolled students to pay fees.

Stage 2: Fill and Submit the Application Form

• Log in and select your programme level (UG / PG / PhD), school, and up to 3 programme preferences in order of priority.
• Enter your academic details — Class 10 board and marks, Class 12 board and marks (or enter 'appearing' if result is awaited), graduation details for PG, and post-graduation details for PhD. Enter your entrance exam score if you already have one. If you haven't appeared yet, leave it blank and submit — you can update later.
• Pay the INR 1,250 application fee (non-refundable, all categories) via UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking. Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and marksheets. Download and save the confirmation PDF with your application number.

Stage 3: Appear in the Entrance Exam

• For B.Tech programs, JEE Main is the primary exam, while UKSEE, DUET, or direct admission (with ≥95% in Class 12 PCM for limited seats) are alternative options. Lateral entry into B.Tech is based on UKSEE or a diploma/B.Sc merit. B.Arch strictly requires NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 as per COA norms.
• Most UG programs like B.Des, BCA, B.Sc, BA, and Nursing are merit-based on Class 12 scores, with subject requirements where applicable. B.Pharm accepts UKSEE or direct merit for the management quota.
• For PG courses, MBA accepts national exams like CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT/UKSEE or DUET if no score is available. MCA, M.Tech, and M.Pharm also allow DUET as an alternative to entrance exams like UKSEE, GATE, or GPAT.
• M.Sc and MA are purely merit-based on graduation marks. M.Des requires a portfolio review, while PhD admissions prefer GATE/NET but allow DUET if unavailable.

Note: DUET (DIT University Entrance Test) is an offline test conducted on the Dehradun campus multiple times a year. It's DIT University's own exam and serves as a fallback for any programme where a national exam isn't available or wasn't taken.

Stage 4: Meet the Minimum Cutoff / Shortlist

• For programmes with entrance exams, DIT University publishes a merit list at dituniversity.edu.in/admissions/counseling-notifications. Your application number, allotted programme, and campus reporting date appear here if you're shortlisted.
• For merit-only programmes (B.Des, BCA, B.Sc, B.A, M.Sc, M.A), the merit list is prepared directly on Class 12 or graduation percentage — no separate cutoff announcement.
• For the MBA, shortlisted candidates must attend a compulsory Group Discussion (GD) on campus. Passing GD leads to a Personal Interview (PI). Both rounds are mandatory — a good CAT/XAT score doesn't bypass them. Failing either round ends the MBA admission process for that cycle.
• M.Tech and PhD shortlisted candidates attend a Personal Interview (PI) on campus. For a PhD, the PI is mandatory regardless of GATE/NET qualification.
• DIT University sends SMS and email alerts when the merit list is live. For real-time updates, subscribe at dituniversity.edu.in/announcements or check the page directly.

Stage 5: Document Verification on Campus

Report to Gate No. 2, DIT University, Mussoorie Diversion Road, Dehradun on your assigned date with:

• All original documents (Class 10, Class 12 or graduation marksheets, entrance exam scorecard, TC, migration certificate, character certificate, Aadhaar card, 4 photographs)
• Uttarakhand / Himalayan States domicile certificate in original — must be submitted on this day. Submitting even one day late means the 25% tuition concession starts only from the next semester, not from admission
• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) if applicable — original from competent authority
• Demand Draft of INR 15,000 in favour of 'DIT University, Dehradun', payable at Dehradun — for seat confirmation

Document verification is done by the admissions team on the spot. If any document is missing or doesn't match the application, the seat is cancelled and goes to the next candidate in the merit list.

Stage 6: Pay Fees and Confirm Seat

• After successful document verification, pay your first semester academic fee online at diterp.dituniversity.edu.in (iNxt ERP Portal) using net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
• Your seat is confirmed only after fee payment. Scholarship adjustments (domicile concession, merit waiver) are reflected in the semester invoice — you pay only the net amount after the applicable scholarship. 

DIT University Conditional Admission For Students Still in Class 12

• If you're appearing in the 2026 Class 12 board exam, you can apply now and receive a conditional admission offer based on your Class 11 or mock exam performance. The offer is confirmed once your Class 12 results are declared and you meet the minimum required percentage.
• If you don't meet the eligibility or choose to withdraw, DIT University deducts INR 1,000 from the counselling fee and refunds the rest. Check DIT University cutoff 2026 once released.

DIT University UG admission 2026 covers 40+ undergraduate programmes. The seat distribution for most DIT University UG courses is: 40% seats for Uttarakhand domicile candidates, 50% for All India candidates, and 10% for NRI/Sponsored/Board Toppers. Board toppers (≥95% in Class 12) are eligible for direct admission to B.Tech without any entrance exam; this way fills 10% seats on a first-come, first-served basis.

PG admission 2026 at DIT University covers 20+ programmes at the master's and research level. MBA is the highest-demand PG programme. DIT University MBA admission, GD and PI are compulsory rounds — a good CAT/XAT score alone is not sufficient. M.Tech CSE and M.Tech Civil Engineering give preference to GATE-qualified candidates; non-GATE applicants must appear in DUET. DIT University PG courses also carry the UK State 25% tuition concession for Uttarakhand domicile holders.

DIT University PhD admission is conducted twice a year, the main session (June/July) and the winter session (January). Full-time and part-time PhD programmes are available in 18+ disciplines. Minimum eligibility is a Master's degree with 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA in the relevant field. Candidates with GATE, NET, or SRF qualifications are preferred; others appear in DUET followed by a Personal Interview on campus.

Applications for DIT University 2026 admission are submitted online at applications.dituniversity.edu.in. The application portal is open throughout the year. These steps apply to every programme at DIT University.

• Go to applications.dituniversity.edu.in. Click 'Register' or 'New Application'. Do not use the ERP login (diterp.dituniversity.edu.in) — that is only for enrolled students.
• Register with your name, valid email ID, and 10-digit mobile number. A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent for verification. After verification, a login ID and password will be emailed to you.
• Select your course. Choose your preferred programme (UG/PG/PhD) and specialisation from the dropdown. You can list up to 3 programmes in order of preference on a single application.
• Fill in personal details, like name, date of birth, gender, nationality, category (General/SC/ST/OBC/EWS), and address.
• Enter academic details like class 10 and 12 board, passing year, marks / CGPA, and name of institution. For PG: add graduation details. For PhD: add graduation and post-graduation details.
• Enter entrance exam details, JEE Main application number and rank (for B.Tech), NATA score (for B.Arch), CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT score (for MBA), GATE score (for M.Tech), or UKSEE roll number (for B.Pharm/MCA/MBA UK quota). Leave blank if you have not yet appeared. If you haven't appeared in a national exam and your programme accepts DUET.
• Upload documents. Required files: scanned passport-size photograph (JPG, max 100 KB), signature (JPG, max 50 KB), Class 10 marksheet (PDF, max 1 MB), Class 12 marksheet (PDF, max 1 MB), and entrance exam scorecard (PDF, max 1 MB). Additional documents may be required for specific categories (see Documents section below).
• Pay the application fee of INR 1,250 (non-refundable). Payment modes: UPI, debit card, credit card, net banking. Save the payment receipt. The application is not considered submitted until payment is confirmed.
• Submit and download confirmation. After final submission, download the filled application form PDF for your records. You will also receive an email confirmation with your application number.

All candidates must carry original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies at the time of document verification and seat confirmation. Missing documents will result in the cancellation of the seat allotment.

DIT Dehradun application fee is INR 1,250 for all UG, PG, and PhD programmes, and is the same across all categories. It is non-refundable and payable online only.
