GATE 2026 Admit Card Postponed: IIT Guwahati to soon update applicants on new date

IIT Guwahati has officially confirmed that the 'release of GATE 2026 admit card has been postponed and the new date shall be notified soon'. The admit card was supposed to be released on January 2, but the release has now been postponed. While IIT Guwahati has not stated an official release for the delay in releasing admit cards, it can be assumed that exam centres allotment and preparing admit cards for almost 8 lakh applicants could be time-consuming. There is no change in the GATE 2026 exam date, which is scheduled to be conducted from February 7 onwards.

This is not the first time that the release of the GATE admit card has been delayed. In 2025, the admit card was supposed to be released on January 2, but was delayed till January 7. However, there was no delay in 2024, but the admit card was delayed by 6 days in 2023. Therefore, a delay in releasing the admit card is quite common over the years. Sometimes, the delay of the admit card could be due to either technical reasons or additional time taken by the exam authority to allocate the exam centres. The applicants need not worry about the delay and wait for an official update on the GATE 2026 admit card.

Recently, CollegeDekho interacted with a CSE subject expert of GATE for insights on the GATE 2026 CSE difficulty level . This year, tthe he CSE paper is expected to be 'Moderate', and the test takers must be thorough with B.Tech syllabus.

What is the Percentile for 100-150 Marks in JEE Main 2026?

100-150 marks in JEE Main 2026 usually translates to a high percentile, often in the range of 95-99. NTA uses the normaization process to release JEE Main percentile rather than raw scores to ensure fairness across its multiple shifts. To make it clearer, if you have secured 97 percentile in JEE Main, it means you scored better than 97% of the other candidates who took the exam in your session. This puts you in a good position and increases your chances of getting into the participating NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, and qualifying for JEE Advanced exam.
