Jiwaji University admission 2026 is currently open only for the PhD programme. The Jiwaji University PhD 2026 Admission Form went live on jiwaji.mponline.gov.in in April 2026. For UG, PG, Diploma, Certificate, and Paramedical courses, the JU University in Gwalior follows a one-cycle-a-year intake starting mid-May through June each year.

For most UG courses like BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA, and BA LLB, admission is based on 10+2 merit or CUET UG scores. Admission in PG courses like MA, MCom, MSc, and MCA is based on graduation merit or CUET PG. Professional courses have their own entrance exam way, MBA through DTE MP CET / CMAT, BTech/MTech through JEE Main / GATE via DTE MP counselling, and PhD through the university’s own entrance exam (or UGC NET/JRF exemption). 

Jiwaji University course admission for the School of Studies (on-campus departments) happens through the MP Online portal and follows the Admission Prospectus rules set by the university.

Jiwaji University has not yet released the complete 2026-27 admission calendar for UG and PG courses as of April 2026. Only the Jiwaji University PhD 2026 Admission Form is currently active. Below is the tentative dates for the 2026 admission:

Note: The 2026-27 confirmed dates will be announced via a press notification. Students should check the notice board weekly from early May 2026 onwards. Application form filling is done exclusively through MP Online kiosks or the self-service portal at jiwaji.mponline.gov.in.

Jiwaji University accepts a mix of national-level and university-conducted entrance exams for different programmes. The table below lists each accepted exam and the courses it applies to. For Jiwaji University programmes not listed here, admission is based purely on qualifying exam merit.

50% of SOS seats are reserved for CUET-registered candidates and 50% for non-CUET applicants — these seats are interchangeable if either pool remains undersubscribed.

Jiwaji University eligibility criteria follow the standard Madhya Pradesh state university norm — 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination is the baseline for most courses, with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates with MP domicile and for Physically Challenged (Nishaktjan) applicants. If seats remain vacant, the university may consider candidates with 45% aggregate, provided the course ordinance permits. Additional 5% relaxation applies in Jyotirvigyan for senior citizens and female candidates.

Candidates appearing in the final semester/year can apply on a provisional basis, but must submit their qualifying results by the last date of admission. Applicants from universities other than Jiwaji must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from Jiwaji University, Gwalior at the time of reporting.

Jiwaji University UG Eligibility Criteria 2026

UG courses at Jiwaji University require 10+2 with relevant subjects. 50% seats are filled through CUET UG, and 50% through Class 12 merit (interchangeable if seats remain). MP students in the category SC/ST/OBC/PwD get 5% relaxation. Honours graduates get 10% weightage for PG.

Jiwaji University PG Eligibility Criteria 2026

PG courses require graduation with 50% marks (45% for MP reserved). 50% seats through CUET PG, others via merit or entrance. For PG Science courses, the merit index is calculated as: sum of aggregate BSc marks + aggregate theory-paper marks in the relevant subject across all six UG semesters, represented out of 100. For all other streams, the overall graduation percentage is considered.

Jiwaji University PhD Eligibility Criteria 2026

PhD requires a Master’s in a relevant discipline with 55% marksthe  (50% for SC/ST/OBC with MP domicile). NET/JRF/CSIR candidates skip the entrance and go to the interview with their research proposal. Other candidates must clear the Jiwaji University PhD Entrance Test. Non-Eligibility Conditions 2026

The following disqualification reasons apply to all courses:

• Applicants appearing in supplementary / ATKT examination of the qualifying exam (1st–5th semester).
• Candidates already holding a Master’s degree from a faculty are not eligible for another Master’s in the same faculty as a regular candidate.
• Applicants with a pending criminal case, court conviction, or past disciplinary action by Jiwaji University or another institution.
• Full-time government / non-government employees are not allowed in regular daytime courses without a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.

Jiwaji University admission process 2026 follows a 4-stage workflow: online application, merit list publication, counselling and fee payment, and finally document verification. For entrance-based courses (MBA, BTech, MTech, PhD, Law), an additional stage — appearing for and qualifying the relevant entrance exam — comes between application and merit list. The process varies slightly by course type. Here is the step-by-step Jiwaji University course admission process that applies to most UG and PG courses:

• Read the admission notification published on jiwaji.edu and in the Gwalior local newspapers.
• Visit jiwaji.mponline.gov.in or an MP Online authorised kiosk with two passport-size photos and all mark sheets/certificates.
• Register and fill the online application form with personal, academic, and category details, plus a declaration and the Proctorial Board form.
• Pay the application fee of INR 1,000 General / INR 800 SC/ST/OBC through MP Online + INR 300 per additional course (max five courses).
• Submit and print the application form and payment receipt.
• Await merit list publication at jiwaji.edu (First Provisional Admission List).
• Download the admit card and appear for the entrance exam (if applicable — JEE Main for BTech, CMAT/CET for MBA, GATE for MTech, University Entrance for Law/PhD, BSc Agriculture exam for agri courses).
• Pay Jivaji University course fees online within the stipulated window (failure to pay forfeits the seat).
• Report Jivaji University campus with original documents for verification.
• Once admission is confirmed, attend orientation and classes.

If seats remain vacant after the first list, the university publishes Second, Third, and Fourth Provisional Admission Lists. Unclaimed reserved-category seats in the first list become open to all categories in the second list. A final Central Leftover Counselling (CLC) round handles any remaining seats, typically in August–September.

For admission to the Institute of Engineering Jiwaji University (IEJU) — the BTech/MTech wing — admissions are centralised through the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Madhya Pradesh. Weightage in the Admission Index

Additional weightage on qualifying marks is granted to specific categories before the index is finalised:

• 5% weightage for NCC “C” Certificate, 240-hour NSS activity at University level, Inter-University/National-level cultural or sports participation, qualifying exam from Jiwaji University or any MP university. Total weightage capped at 5%, used only for merit ranking, not eligibility.
• 10% weightage for Physically Challenged candidates on the qualifying exam marks.
• 10% weightage for candidates who completed B.Sc./B.A./B.Com. Honours.

Tie-Breaker Rules

If two or more candidates have the same index, preference is given in this order:

• A candidate who passed the qualifying exam from Jiwaji University.
• A candidate from another MP university
• A candidate from outside MP
• A candidate who passed the qualifying exam in the most recent year.

Jiwaji University UG admissions are based on 10+2 aggregate merit. CUET UG scores are accepted for 50% of seats under the CUET quota. For professional Jiwaji University UG courses like BA LLB, BCom LLB, and BSc LLB, admission is through the university entrance exam or CLAT score. BBA and BCA are among the most applied-for UG programmes at the School of Studies, while BA LLB is the flagship 5-year integrated law programme.

Students targeting the UG cycle should register for CUET UG 2026 to maximise their chances under both the CUET and non-CUET quotas.

Jiwaji University PG admission 2026 is index-based for Science courses (for the MSc course, the sum of UG aggregate + relevant subject marks), and graduation-merit-based is considered for non-Science courses like MA, MCom. For professional courses, MBA admission is through exams like CMAT, CAT, or DTE MP CET. MTech requires a GATE score, LLM needs a university entrance test, and PhD admission is through university entrance or UGC NET.

Jiwaji University MSc Neuroscience — India’s only DBT-sponsored Neuroscience teaching programme at the university level, draws applicants nationwide. Jiwaji University MA Jyotirvigyan is another unique offering with special admission relaxations for senior citizens and female candidates.

Jiwaji University School of Distance Education admits students separately from the regular SOS cycle, typically in both January and July sessions. Distance education admission is merit-based — no entrance exam is conducted. For the 2026-27 July session, the admission portal is expected to open in May 2026 with a deadline window around late July 2026.

Distance education programmes are UGC-DEB-approved and use the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. Selection is purely on qualifying exam merit. Applications are submitted at jiwaji.edu/information-corner/distance-education along with an application fee of INR 500.

To apply for Jiwaji University Gwalior admission 2026, candidates must complete the Jiwaji University online application form on jiwaji.mponline.gov.in after the admission notification is released. The entire Jiwaji University application process is online and can be completed from home or at any MP Online authorised kiosk across Madhya Pradesh. Follow these steps to complete the application:

• Visit the official admission portal at jiwaji.mponline.gov.in or the admission link on jiwaji.edu.
• Click “Apply Online” and select the course category, UG / PG / Diploma / Certificate / PhD.
• Register with your name, email, mobile number, and Aadhaar. You will receive a user ID and password via SMS and email.
• Log in and open the application form for your chosen course (up to five courses permitted in one application).
• Fill in personal details, like full name, father’s name, mother’s name, DOB, category, nationality, correspondence address, and mobile number.
• Fill in academic details with 10th marks, 12th marks, graduation marks (for PG), board/university names, and passing year.
• Upload documents of a scanned copy of 10th and 12th mark sheets, graduation mark sheet (if applicable), caste certificate, passport-size photo, signature, and Aadhaar. File format: .jpg/.jpeg/.pdf under the specified size limit.
• Fill the Proctorial Board form and sign the anti-ragging declaration.
• Pay the application fee of INR 1,000 (General) / INR 800 (SC/ST/OBC) + INR 300 per additional course, via net banking, debit card, credit card, UPI, or at an MP Online kiosk.
• Review and submit. Download the filled application form, fee receipt, and Proctorial Board form, print all three, and keep them for counselling reporting.

Application fees are non-refundable once paid. Merit is prepared from the details and documents submitted in the application; incomplete or incorrect submissions forfeit the admission claim. The last date for submission is strictly enforced, and no applications are accepted after it.

Candidates must carry original documents along with two self-attested photocopies of each at the time of reporting to the department for admission. Original documents are returned after verification.

Fee calculation example: A General candidate applying for three courses pays INR 1,000 + (INR 300 × 2 extra courses) = INR 1,600. An SC/ST/OBC candidate applying for three courses pays INR 800 + (INR 300 × 2) = INR 1,400. Maximum five courses per candidate.

Note on intake rules: A course will not be offered in a given session if fewer than 10 students are admitted. NRI/sponsored candidates get extra seats over and above the stated intake; these do not affect the regular quota.

Jiwaji University Reservation Policy 2026 follows the Madhya Pradesh state government policy. Only candidates with Madhya Pradesh domicile are eligible for reserved-category benefits. Non-MP domicile candidates from reserved categories apply under the general category.

Extra seats are created over and above the course intake for wards of regular teachers/officers (1 seat per course) and wards of regular Class III/IV employees of the university (1 seat per course). These seats are interconvertible if either category remains unfilled. If reserved seats remain vacant after the first merit list, they become open to all categories in the second list.
