Established in 1999, MCKV Institute of Engineering, also known as MCKVIE, is one of the best private colleges for engineering, located in Howrah, West Bengal. MCKV Institute of Engineering courses are various. The institute offers bachelor's degree programmes, B.Voc degree programmes, and master's degree programmes. Under this course, students get to choose among nine different specialisations. The entrance exams accepted are WBJEE/JEE (Main). Candidates must have completed class 12 with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Applications / Technical vocational subjects with pass marks (in both theory and practical, whichever is applicable) in all three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
Apart from that, candidates must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in the case of SC, ST, OBC, and PwD) in all the three subjects taken together. In Class 12, candidates must have obtained at least 30% marks in English. The board of qualifying examination must be recognised either by the Central or State Government Both B.Sc Candidates and Diploma holders in Engineering and Technology will also be eligible for admission to the first year of Engineering degree courses, subject to vacancies in the first year classes in case the vacancies as a lateral entry in the second year are exhausted. However, the admission shall be based strictly on the aforementioned eligibility criteria.
B.Tech (Lateral) is available for (AUE, ME, ECE, EC-VLSI, CSE, CSE-DS, EE, and IT). Candidates must have a valid JELET Score. Diploma holder seeking admission into Engineering and Technology Degree Course - The candidate must pass Diploma in any branch from an institute approved by AICTE. The candidate must secure at least 45% (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ PwD) marks or equivalent CGPA in diploma examination in relevant branch.
For B.Sc Candidate, the upper age limit is 27. The candidate must pass B.Sc Degree from any University recognised by UGC with at least 45% (40% for ST/SC/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD) marks. Also, the candidate must have passed the class 12 examination with Mathematics as a subject. The candidate, if admitted, will have to clear the subjects of Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing of the first year degree course in Engineering / Technology along with his / her second-year subjects. B.Sc candidates will be considered for admission only if vacancies remain even after filling the seats with available diploma holder candidates.
Direct admission is offered in the B.Voc courses. The vocational educational programme mainly focuses on job-specific skills rather than the board or council-based education. The main objective of this programme is to enable students to acquire skills and learn the fundamental technologies by engaging them in on-the-job training of the industry/organisations along with the theory classes in an academic scene. This programme has been initiated with the affiliation of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and with the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), MHRD, Government of India.
The candidate must be a B.E./B.Tech in ECE / AEIE / Control and Instrumentation Engg. or M.Sc in Electronics / Physics (with Electronics special) or the candidate should be an associate member of a Professional Body of Engineers recognised by the Govt. of India for admission to higher studies in Engineering.

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship
Kanyashree Kanyashree’s one-time grant of Rs 25,000 is for girls who are between the ages of 18 and 19. Both the annual scholarship and the one-time grant are only for those girls who are:
However, girls who are specially-abled (with a disability of 40% or more), living in a Home registered under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2000, or have lost both parents may apply for Kanyashree even if their family’s income is more than Rs 1,20,000 per year.

This is from the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of WB. Scholarship to the children of those engaged in unclean occupation.
