Dear parent,

As per the data from the past years, a rank of 186 with the BCM category should be well enough to get Civil Engineering in some of the colleges participating in TNEA counselling 2025. However, it is unlikely that you will get a free seat via TNEA counselling. Your daughter may, however, be able to get institute institute-sponsored scholarship at M. Kumarswamy College of Engineering, Karur, as the institute provides scholarships to students with a 185+ cutoff. You can also try for various government-sponsored scholarships and TFW policies in particular colleges. Other than the M. Kumarswamy College of Engineering, some of the TNEA participating colleges that accept 186 cutoff for the Civil Engineering stream are Anna University Chennai, Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering, and PSG College of Technology.

We hope this information was helpful to you. If you have further queries regarding TNEA counselling and admission, you can write to hello@collegedekho.com or call our toll free number 18005729877, or simply fill out our Common Application Form on the website.

Dear student,

Admissions to CSE stream at M. Kumaraswamy College of Engineering will be based on TNEA counselling 2025. Since no entrance exam will be held, admissions to M. Kumaraswamy College of Engineering will be based on merit. You can check last year’s cutoff trends to assess if 170 is enough to make it to M. Kumaraswamy College of Engineering in CSE branch. The category-wise TNEA 2024 cutoff for CSE branch in M. Kumaraswamy College of Engineering, Karur was 174.5 for OC, 169 for BC, 130.5 for BCM, and 155.5 for MBC categories, respectively. It is expected that cutoff marks will remain somewhere around the same as last year. Therefore, a 170 cutoff should be sufficient for admission to the CSE group if you belong to BC, BCM, and MBC categories. We hope this information was helpful to you.

All the best!
