My daughter is having cutoff marks of 186, BCM caste. Can she get free seat in Civil department for four years? I applied via TNEA counselling.

As per the data from the past years, a rank of 186 with the BCM category should be well enough to get Civil Engineering in some of the colleges participating in TNEA counselling 2025. However, it is unlikely that you will get a free seat via TNEA counselling. Your daughter may, however, be able to get institute institute-sponsored scholarship at M. Kumarswamy College of Engineering, Karur, as the institute provides scholarships to students with a 185+ cutoff. You can also try for various government-sponsored scholarships and TFW policies in particular colleges. Other than the M. Kumarswamy College of Engineering, some of the TNEA participating colleges that accept 186 cutoff for the Civil Engineering stream are Anna University Chennai, Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering, and PSG College of Technology.
