NEET UG 2026 May 3 Exam Cancelled: When is re-exam expected to happen?

NEET UG 2026 May 3 Exam Cancelled: The National Testing Agency has voided the NEET UG 2026 exam due to integrity concerns for approximately 2.2 million medical candidates, which was held on May 3, 2026. Already, the Govt of India has handed over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation for further investigation. As per the report published by the Rajasthan Special Operation Group, the investigators recovered a handwritten suggestion paper including 120 similar questions with the actual NEET 2026 exam paper. NTA accepts the allegation that they received the same inputs on the evening of May 7, 2026 (that is, after four days of the examination). Based on that, the agency has decided to walk out for the independent verification, and then the necessary action will be taken. NTA made a promise for the sake of the genuine test takers that their hard work would not go in vain.

NEET Re-Exam 2026 Expected Date: Will NTA conduct the exam before May 31?

NEET Re-Exam 2026 Expected Date: Will NTA conduct re-exam in June?

NEET Re-Exam 2026: On May 12, the National Testing Agency cancelled the NEET UG 2026 exam conducted on May 3 after confirming that the paper was leaked in Rajasthan. DG NTA addressed the media through various press conferences on May 12 and indicated that they would confirm the re-exam date within 7-10 days. Also, the National Testing Agency will refund the application fees to all the NEET UG 2026 applicants. As the re-exam date is yet to be announced, students and parents are now looking for an update. All the applicants have to revise the syllabus again and do the preparation accordingly. NTA might not give much gap for the re-exam, and there is a possibility that the exam might be conducted in June. The chances of conducting the exam in May are low.

NEET Re-Exam Expected Date 2026: Tentative Possibilities

  • NTA may or may not conduct the exam before May 31, as NTA will need time to make arrangements for the exam, such as re-generating the admit cards, preparing question papers and dispatching them to exam centres with high security measures, etc. Therefore, atleast 15 days are required for NTA to make all these arrangements
  • Expected Date 1: There is a chance for conducting the exam in the first week of June (probably the first Sunday of June, i.e., June 7). This could be the most expected date. However, students are advised to wait for an official announcement
  • Expected Date 2: If NTA makes all the arrangements for the re-exam in the next 10-12 days, there is a possibility that the exam might be conducted by May 31 (SUNDAY).

Students are advised to wait for an official announcement. NTA is providing every important update through its 'X' account, and the same is being communicated through the official website as well. Therefore, do not believe any rumours with regard to the exam date. Also, students are advised to stay away from 'Telegram Accounts' claiming NEET leaked question papers. Such accounts have to be reported to the NTA with immediate effect.
