Management and Consulting Club -

We, at the Xavier's Management Society believe in inspiring others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more; nurturing leaders in the process.

With our aim to discover and promote the talent of the students, we organise events all-round the year. We provide students with a platform to explore their management prowess.

We started our year with X-Cursion '15, by giving the students an opportunity to visit the factory of The Keventer Group, the leading business conglomerate in India producing fast moving consumer goods like Appy Fizz, Frooti, Yippee noodles, Bailey, etc. It was an enlightening experience for the students to see how a large scale manufacturing house works at the ground level.

The 11th edition of our annual magazine, 'The X-Ecutive'15' on the theme "The Ripple Effect", showcased how small actions can have a significant reaction in society. Our magazine featured articles from students, faculty members and var ious seasoned profes s ional s alongside interviews of leading businessmen and professionals..We were also blessed with the interviews of Mr. Robin Sharma (Author and Motivational Speaker) and Mr. Sujoy Ghosh (renowned Indian filmmaker).

We hosted a panel discussion, X-Talk'15 in the month of March. The magazine was launched at "X-Talk'15". X-Talk is an event which brings eminent personalities to our campus and gets them to interact with students of our college, creating an ambience where opinions are framed and destinies are formed. Mr. Cyrus Broacha, a TV anchor, theatre personality and comedian, honoured us with his presence for X-Talk'15. He completely captivated the guests, faculty members and the students of the various departments of our college.

Fine Arts Club -

At the Fine Arts Society of St. Xavier's College, we focus on the promulgation of Fine and Performing Arts in college, in a subtle and intellectually satisfying manner. One of the oldest societies of the college, it involves and engages students from all departments in organizing several events that aim at a holistic development of one's creative faculties.

The academic session of 2014-2015 has been one successful year for the society beginning with Sunset Jam sessions in the month of August which inevitably attract a large number of people to the green benches for an afternoon of music, ever since its inception in 2013.

With a conscious attempt to make the X-hibit workshops different this year, the society pooled in its human resources to invite Chandan Sen (Theatre), Jivraj Singh (Music), Mambo City dance crew (Cha-Cha), Debarshi Dutta Gupta and Soumya Bandyopadhyay (Photography) to organize some spectacularly engaging workshops.

Walbrush this year was bigger than ever. Receiving an enormous response for this annual painting and photography exhibition, the venue had to be shifted to the main auditorium to accommodate more art pieces. The theme for photography was Triptych. The judges, Dhiraj Choudhury and Ronny Sen were quite impressed by the entries.

English Club -

2015 has been a year of loss for the Department of English. Professor Rohinton Kapadia was not merely an integral part of the department, but also a guardian and guru, who professors and students alike could look to for advice and guidance in realizing the projects of The English Academy. He constantly nurtured and enriched the department and grief is too inept an emotion to express our sorrow. But it is through our little endeavors liking hosting 'Literaria' and publishing 'Ode to Expressions' that we intend to explore the vistas of literary possibilities and thus, keep Sir's vision alive.

Literature portrays and colours the lives of people from different walks of life. It was with the objective of celebrating the many shades of literature that The English Academy of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata hosted its annual Inter College Fest, 'Literaria' on the 27th of September, 2014, attended by fifteen colleges of the state. All the events centered on the tagline - "A story behind every shade".
