Exeter University is a public research university that was established in 1838 as St Lukes College. It was founded in 1955 when it received a royal charter. The university is based in the cathedral city of Exeter, South West England, UK and is a member of the Russell Group combining excellent student satisfaction with world-class research output. To recognise the University of Exeters high-quality teaching, the TEF (Teaching Excellence Framework) has awarded Gold to the university. In the Complete University Guide 2021, the university has been placed at the 12th position.The university has three campuses with the largest being the Streatham campus, which contains theexecutive buildings.The university's Penryn campus is regarded as one of the most stunning campuses in the country.
Exeter Universityis organised into six academic colleges including theCollege of Life and Environmental Sciences; College of Medicine and Health; College of Social Sciences and International Studies; College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences; The Business School and College of Humanities. It has over 23,500 students, out of which around 4,555 are international students from 140 different countries.It further boasts more than 200 student societies within the campus. These include the Socialist Students, the Conservative Future Society, and the Creative Writing Club. The university's athletic union has more than 50 sports clubs and is responsible for organising and managing the activities that are carried out within the university.
