Uttarakhand Open University Scholarships 2026 - Details, Eligibility, Amount

The Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) was established in 2005 as a result of a statute enacted by the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly (Act No. 23 of 2005). The UOU scholarships are offered to students to support their education. This prominent university is known for providing distance learning education and is arranged into eight regional centres at Dehradun, Roorkee, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Ranikhet, Bageshwar, Haldwani, and Pithoragarh. It has more than 90 Study Centers distributed throughout the state.

Students have access to undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programmes in a range of subjects, including the arts, sciences, commerce, management, and computer applications. The most sought-after degrees include those with a variety of specialisations, such as the BA, B.Sc., BBA, BCA, B.Com, BTTM, B.Ed, MBA, MCA, MA, M.Sc., M.Com, MPA, MSW, MTTM, and PhD. Uttarakhand Post Matric Scholarships for OBC/SC/ST students: The students who belong to the Scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other backward classes of the society fall into this category of scholarship. This also includes the criterion that students must be residents of Uttarakhand only.

Uttarakhand Pre-Matric Scholarships for SC/ST students: The scheduled castes and scheduled tribe students who belong to the Uttarakhand region can avail of this scholarship. Their performance in the last qualifying examination must be satisfactory for the same. 

Uttarakhand Pre-Matric Scholarships for students with disabilities: This is a scholarship at the pre-matric level for students with disabilities. 

Uttarakhand Post-Matric Scholarships for students with disabilities: This is at the post-matric level. 

National Scholarship and Fellowship for the higher education of ST students: This is a special fellowship for high school students. 

Top Class education scheme for ST students: This is another central scheme scholarship for students of Uttarakhand Open University, Dehradun. This entails only the students of the scheduled tribes' category. 

Post-Matric scholarship scheme for SC students of all states: This post-matric scheme is open for all scheduled classes from all states. This scheme is not limited to the state of Uttarakhand itself.

Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities: As part of this scheme, students can avail of concessions at the post-matric level.

Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses: This Uttarakhand Open University scholarship is awarded based on the student's merit, including his or her scores in the final examination.
