Students from Mechanical Engineering department of Sanghvi Institute of Management & Science (SIMS), Indore bagged the “Best Innovation” award and a cash prize of Rs 15,000 at Central Superkarting 2016 organised at MIT, Ujjain.
The Team of the students Chetak- under the able guidance of Prof. Huzefa Ali, came up with two exceptional innovations.
Those studens who particpated were:
Aanshik Sharma, Vishal Shrivastava, Ketan Singh, Amarnath Pandey, Narman Pathak, Vijay Patel, Aamir Malik, Shubham Tak, Lakhan Mahan, Rahul Dodiya, Ishwar Tenguria, Suraj Sen, Vishal Kasaniya, Vikram Bisht, Ramashankar Jha.
The first innovation was a specially designed helmet with an inbuilt sensor that was programmed to shut the go-kart engine down if it sensed alcohol fumes or tobacco smoke.
The second one, a sensor placed under the driver’s seat would calculate the person’s weight. Head of Mechanical, Department Dr. Suresh Batni congratulated the participants on winning laurels for the college.
