Germany has lifted the travel ban imposed on five countries including India, Nepal, Russia, Portugal, and the United Kingdom. It will be effective from July 7, 2021.

Germany has lifted the travel ban imposed on India and four other countries including the United Kingdom, Nepal, Russia, and Portugal. The official changes shall be effective from July 07, 2021, as announced by German ambassador, Walter J Lindner.

Lindner through his tweet said that Germany is removing the entry ban and easing travel rules for five countries where the Delta variant is widespread, including India.

Relaxation in Germany's travel rules is indeed great news for hundreds of Indian scholars, engineers, IT professionals, and students who were stuck in India over the last few months.

Indian students scheduled to start classes in the upcoming Fall term in Germany can now plan their travel provided they have valid study visas. However, several visa applications are still pending and those students will have to wait for a few more days until their visas are approved.
