The University of the West of England, Bristol, commonly known as UWE Bristol, is a public research university which is considered as Britain’s one of the most popular universities. The university is situated in the Bristol city of England. UWE Bristol received its university status in 1992. The university is known for its quality of teaching and is also the 2nd best university in England 7th best in the UK for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2020. UWE is also ranked 28th, its highest-ever position, among 121 UK universities.

UWE Bristol has over 30,000 students and 3,000 staff, making it one of the largest institutions in the South West. Covid-19 Response

The University of West of England, Bristol is working continuously to create a Covid-secure campus and protect its students, staff and faculty members. It has transformed the mode of teaching into the blended approach which is the combination of both face-to-face and online learning. Given below are the up-to-date information about UWE Bristol’s response to Covid-19 (as of January 2021):

  • The university is in the process of granting CASs for those who paid their deposit and completed their CASs task before December 18, 2020. 

  • Students are advised to avoid travelling until lockdown restrictions imposed on January 2021 have been lifted. 

  • All courses (except those that require face-to-face teaching) will be delivered online until the end of February 2021.

  • All travellers to the UK will have to show a negative test before travelling. They must also self-isolate for ten days in order to comply with the UK Government's advice.

  • In case a student is unable to travel to the UK and take up their offer of accommodation, then the accommodation deposit will be fully refunded.

  • The Home Office has lifted its restriction on reporting non-attendance of over 60 days and UWE Bristol will keep sponsoring such a student as a Tier 4 student.

  • Those who have a Tier 4/Student visa and have returned to your home country, the same should be informed to the University by submitting the Tier 4 absence form online.

The University of West of England, Bristol (UWE Bristol) offers a number of graduate and postgraduate scholarships. The university also offers country-specific scholarships. International students can go through the following scholarship and then apply accordingly. 

International Sport Scholarship

Award Value:

1st Formations Business Scholarship

Award Value: A bursary of £600 ($800)

Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education MA Scholarship

Award Value: £5,000 for one academic year

Number of Awards: 1

Study Level: Postgraduate (Full-time MA)

Accepted Nationalities: International

Eligibility:

  • Must be applying to MA in Animation/Graphic Arts/Design/Journalism/Photography/Screen Business/Screen Production/Multi-disciplinary printmaking

  • Must have an unconditional offer with IELTS or equivalent as the only English language condition. 

  • Must be a new student at UWE Bristol with no history of studying in the UK.

  • Must be paying overseas fees. 

  • Must not be receiving any other scholarship/award.

  • Must submit official transcripts

  • Must satisfy UKVI criteria with relation to living costs and the remainder of the fee (after being accepted for the scholarship).
