Established in 1810 as R. B. A. Queen's University, Belfast, also known as QUB or Queen’s is a public research university. QUB received its university status in 1908 becoming the ninth oldest university in the UK. The QS World Rankings 2021 of Queen's University Belfast is  209. The teaching excellence and innovative research of the Queen's University Belfast is recognised globally because of which it is a centre of attraction for international students.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The university’s award-winning library: McClay Library is a dedicated study space that was opened in 2009. The campus is surrounded by the culture, art and social scenes of Belfast. Its location in a cosmopolitan and bustling city with a rich cultural heritage and vibrant social life is something to be boastful of.  This massive library offers over 2,000 reader seats in formal and informal spaces. Students are given access to WiFi and a significant number of PCs. It houses about 1.2 million volumes. The library is manifested with the latest technology, computing and media services. Queen’s cutting-edge facilities in Health Sciences laboratories, Engineering, Computing and Business give students immense opportunities to flourish.

The University’s orientation towards research and very high output resulted in the university to become the 8th best university in the UK for Research Intensity. More than 75% of its research was ranked as ‘internationally excellent’ and ‘world-leading’ by the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014. Queen's University, Belfast is also a member of the Russell Group, incorporating an excellent level of research with education. QUB achieved 9th rank in the world for its research collaboration. COVID-19 Response 

  • Queen's University Belfast is delivering distance learning for maximum courses to limit the spread of COVID 19. Only essential and unavoidable classes are being conducted face to face within the campus. 

  • The face to face lectures are being conducted in small groups to maintain social distancing. 

  • The research work is being conducted at Queen's University Belfast campus with the necessary precautions and safety measures.

  • The university campus is available for facilities like library, Student Guidance Centre, Accommodation, Physical Education Centre for individual exercise etc, with strict guidelines. 

  • Classrooms are being cleaned and sanitised at frequent intervals. No one is allowed in the campus without a face mask and essential precautions. Students and staff are encouraged to avoid unnecessary.

International Office Undergraduate Scholarship

International Office Undergraduate Scholarship is available for international students enrolled in undergraduate studies at the Queen's University Belfast. The scholarship is awarded as a discount on the tuition fee. No cash alternative is available. The amount is credited in the tuition fee account.

The scholarship is awarded in the first year of undergraduate study only. 

How to Apply for International Office Undergraduate Scholarship? 
New international students enrolled in full-time studies of first-year undergraduate courses are eligible for International Office Undergraduate Scholarship. The student must meet the conditions of the academic programme to receive the scholarship.

There is no need to fill in a separate application for the scholarship. 

Those who meet the eligibility criteria and requirement are sent notification from the university about the receipt of the award. The scholarship amount is automatically awarded upon enrolment.

Award Value 

The value of  International Office Undergraduate Scholarship ranges between £2500 or £3000. 

Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship 2021/ 22

Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship is a competitive scholarship as it is awarded to only four students in an academic session. It is awarded to exceptionally talented international students enrolled in full-time undergraduate studies in the academic year.

How to Apply for Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship? 

To be considered for Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship, the applicant must complete the online application available on the official website of the university.

The application form must be submitted only by those students who have an offer for undergraduate studies at the Queen's University Belfast. 

Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship Application Deadline 2021/22

The deadline for Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship for 2021 is June 8, 2021. 

Award Value

50% reduction in the full international tuition fee. It is awarded each year for up to a maximum of four years.

Queen's Loyalty Scholarship

Queen's Loyalty Scholarship is available for students who are enrolled in e Exchange, Study Abroad or International Summer School and have previously completed full-time studies at the Queen’s University Belfast campus.

The scholarship is awarded in the first year of studies only. 

How to Apply for Queen's Loyalty Scholarship? 

To be considered for Queen's Loyalty Scholarship, the applicant must complete the online application available on the official website of the university before the deadline. 

Only those students who have previously studied at the Queen's University Belfast and hold an offer from Queen's University Belfast for further full-time studies must use the application form to apply for the scholarship.

Application Deadline 2021 

The deadline for applications is 31 October 2021

Early Bird Reward

Early Bird Reward is available for international students who are enrolled in a full-time course at the Queen's University Belfast. The student must hold an unconditional offer from the university and should have paid 90% of the tuition fee by June 2021 to receive the award. 

The discount is awarded for the first year only and it is deducted from the tuition fees. 

How to Apply?

No separate application needed. Candidates just have to submit the course application form before the deadline.
