The University of California—San Diego is a public institution that was established in 1960. UCSD is accredited by WASC and all its degree programs are duly accredited by the respective agencies. UC San Diego was ranked 31st in the world by Times Higher Education in the 2020 World University Rankings and was also named as 20th best in the USA. It has also been listed by the U.S. News and World Report rank 19 in the Best Global Universities rankings 2020.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
UC San Diego's main campus is situated near the Pacific Ocean on roughly 1,200 acres of coastal woodland in La Jolla, California. UCSD has six undergraduate residential colleges; the college system provides students with the benefits of a small liberal arts college and the resources of a large research university. Apart from six undergraduate colleges, UCSD also has five academic divisions and five graduate and professional schools.
UCSD provides more than 125 bachelor's degree programs categorized into five academic divisions: arts and humanities, biological sciences, engineering, mathematics and physical sciences, and social sciences. The university is in the top 30 institutions for imparting degrees in Fine Arts, Drama, and theatre, Engineering, Health Sciences, Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities, etc.
