History, Affiliation and Rankings

Woodbury University was first established as Woodbury’s Business College in 1884 by F.C. Woodbury, an educator, and entrepreneur. Woodbury maintained gender equality since its inception, and this was very progressive at that time. Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), in1961, accredited the college. The college became a non-profit in 1972. Later in 1974, Woodbury college became Woodbury University. US News ranks Woodbury University in #53 among the Regional Universities West ranking.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

To establish the Los Angeles campus, Woodbury acquired an area of 22.40 acres for the suburban campus in Shadow Hills in 1985. Woodbury moved into this new campus officially in 1987, and since it is located near Burbank post, the campus is acknowledged as Burbank Campus. Woodbury is offering undergraduate and graduate courses with a variety of majors from its School of Business; School of Architecture; School of Media, Culture, and Design; and College of Liberal Arts. The university set up Woodbury University San Diego in 1998. It is a satellite campus that offers degrees in Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture, and Master of Interior Architecture.
