An additional incentive is proposed if the interest is fully serviced during the study period: a 1% interest concession.

  • The applicant has to enter their basic details like name, gender, date of birth, Aadhaar number, PAN number, mother’s name and father’s name.
  • Then, you have to provide your permanent and present residential address.
  • Enter your contact details including your mobile number, alternative mobile number and email address.
  • Passport and VISA details such as passport number, passport expiry date, visa number, visa expiry date, I-20 form if applicable and other unique ID also have to be provided.
  • The applicant has to enter their bank account details which include IFSC code, bank name, branch name, account number and account type.
  • Guardian’s/ Co-borrowers (in the absence of father and mother) details like Guardian’s/ Co-borrower's name, Guardian’s/ Co-borrower’s gender, mobile number, email ID, Aadhaar number, PAN number, and relationship with the applicant.
  • The address of the Guardian/ Co-borrower is also needed.
  • Bank details such as IFS Code, Bank Name, Branch Name, Account Number and Account Type of the Guardian/ Co-borrower. The Guardian’s / Co-borrower’s annual income (from all sources in INR) has to be filled in the online WB Student Credit Card form.
  • To get the WB Student Credit Card for studying abroad, the applicant has to mention if he/ she has any existing loans or if the co-borrower has a loan.
  • At the end, the candidate needs to write a password and confirm it before pressing the register button.

Online Registration

WB Student Credit Card Eligibility for Studying Abroad

The West Bengal Student Credit Card scheme aims to provide financial assistance to college students for additional studies abroad and in India. To use the WB Student Credit Card for studying abroad, you need to fulfil the requirements given below:

Residential Requirement

The applicant must be an Indian citizen to apply for the WB Student Credit Card. To get your loan sanctioned to study abroad, the applicant or his family must have been a resident of West Bengal for at least 10 years before filing the application form. The applicant must have a West Bengal voter card during the application process.

Age Limit

To apply for the WB Student Credit Card, the student who wants to study abroad must be at least 15 years of age. The maximum age limit for the students has been fixed to 40 years at the time of application. This provides opportunities to students who have started their careers or those who have completed their basic degrees but want to pursue higher studies.

Educational Qualification

Students must have completed their Class 12 with no backlogs from a recognised board to qualify for the West Bengal Student Credit Card loan application. They must be enrolled in Class 10 or 12 or higher education in recognized institutions. Students who are taking coaching from institutes for competitive exams like Engineering, Medical, Law, UPSC, PSC, SSC, etc, are also eligible to apply for the scheme.

Entry Confirmation

For institutions outside of India, the college acceptance proof has to be submitted. The college must be a recognised one to use the WB Student Credit Card for studying abroad.

  • Colour photograph of the applicant (should be in .jpeg / .jpg between 50 KB and 20 KB)
  • Colour photograph of the co-applicant / co-borrower (should be in .jpeg / .jpg format, between 50 KB and 20 KB)
  • Signature of the student (should be in .jpeg / .jpg format, between 50 KB and 10 KB)
  • Co-borrower/ Guardian’s signature (should be in .jpeg / .jpg, format, between 50 KB and 10 KB)
  • Student’s Aadhaar Card (should be in pdf format, between 400 KB and 50 KB)
  • Student’s Class 10th Board registration certificate (if no Aadhaar card) (should be in pdf format between 400 KB and 50 KB)

  • Admission Receipt (should be in .pdf between 400 KB and 50 KB)
  • Student’s PAN Card/ undertaking if there is no PAN Card (in .pdf format between 400 KB and 50 KB)
