NEET MDS 2024 Exam Day Instructions

All candidates must be well-versed with the NEET MDS 2024 Exam Day Instructions to avoid any hassle at the eleventh hour before the examination begins. Candidates must follow the reporting time as mentioned on the NEET MDS 2033 Admit Card and arrive at the examination centre within the specified time frame. 

The reporting counter of the examination center will close 30 minutes before the exam commences. Here are a few steps taken at the reporting counter: 

  • ID Verification: The original documents mentioned above will be checked at the time of entry into the exam hall. All candidates will be thoroughly checked by the concerned authorities. 

  • Thumb Impressions: Left thumbprints of all candidates shall be captured electronically at the time of entry. 

  • On-Spot Digital Photograph: As a security measure, the digital image of the reporting candidate shall be captured and taken on record. 

  • Entry as per Time Slots mentioned in Admit Cards: To avoid crowding at the exam centre, candidates are required to report at the ‘Reporting Counter’ of exam centre as per time indicated in their admit cards.

  • Barcode/QR Code Reader at Entry Points: The candidate will show the admit card and ID proof for verification to the invigilator standing across the table with a barcode/QR code reader.

  • Isolation Labs: All candidates will be checked at the entry point for fever with the thermo guns. If a candidate is having above normal temperature or has any symptoms of COVID-19 infection, he/she will be allowed to take the examination in a separate isolation lab.

Mentioned below are some more NEET MDS 2024 instructions or guidelines for candidates appearing for the exam:

  • There will be no storage facilities at the test centers for candidates' belongings. If a candidate is found to be in possession of any prohibited items beyond the security checkpoint, it will be considered cheating and the candidate will face the consequences as outlined in the relevant regulations. Candidates are advised not to bring any prohibited items to the test center to prevent inconvenience.

  • Body frisking and hand-held metal detector searches will not be conducted while maintaining social distancing measures.

  • The candidates' finger biometrics will not be collected during the test registration process in the SD-CBT test venue. However, the candidates' photographs will be taken on the day of the exam at the center. Face recognition will be verified at the time of registration and during each break. To prevent impersonation, candidates are expected to cooperate with this important procedure. Candidates must comply with these security measures to be allowed to take the test.

  • After verification of identification and capturing face recognition, candidates will be escorted to their designated computer terminal while observing social distancing, and an invigilator will assist with the check-in process.

  • Candidates are required to keep their admit cards and photo IDs with them at all times during the exam.

  • They must follow the invigilator's instructions to begin the exam. Each workstation will be enclosed on three sides, front, left, and right, and candidates are advised not to look around at other candidates as there will be surveillance cameras recording video.

  • No paper or pens for rough work will be provided at the center.

  • Any suspicious or disruptive behavior by a candidate may result in their candidacy being cancelled.

  • If a candidate encounters any issues during the exam, they may raise their hand to notify the invigilator.

  • In manual attendance, candidates will not be required to sign or provide an ink fingerprint in the SD-CBT.

  • In the event of a technical disruption during the test, registered candidates will be given the full allocated exam time.

Documents to Carry on NEET MDS 2024 Exam Day

All candidates will need to carry the following set of documents to the exam centre on the date of examination:

  1. A copy of the QR coded or barcoded admit card with the candidate’s photograph pasted on it
  2. A valid ID proof issued by the Government of India. These may include any of the following:

  3. Aadhaar Card

  4. PAN Card

  5. Voter ID

  6. Driving License

  7. Passport

If a candidate reports to the venue with an e-Aadhaar card having the Adhaar No. printed on it, it must be made sure that the print of the Aadhaar Card is of fine quality and the picture on it is clearly visible.

Candidates must ensure that the name on the ID proof matches the one on the admit card. For candidates who have had their names changed after marriage, a relevant document, such as a Marriage Certificate/Legal Name Change Document/Divorce Decree/ Gazette Notification must be displayed to substantiate the name change.

NEET MDS 2024 Dress Code for Candidates

Candidates must adhere to a specific dress code for NEET MDS 2024 examination. The following are some of the instructions regarding the dress code:

Female candidates can wear light-colored kurtas without inner pockets or half-sleeved tops, pants, salwar, flat sandals, and glasses with clear frames. They are also permitted to wear religious attire such as Hijab or Burqa. Female candidates are not allowed to enter the exam hall wearing any clothing with embroidery, track pants, high-heeled sandals, jeans, or any jewelry such as rings, earrings, or bands.

Male candidates can wear half-sleeved light-colored shirts, pants, spectacles, sandals, or slippers. They are also allowed to wear religious headwear such as turbans. Male candidates are prohibited from wearing metal bands, shoes, metal watches, track pants, etc. during the examination.

NEET MDS 2024: Do’s and Don’ts at the Exam Centre

When entering the NEET MDS Exam Centres 2024, candidates will need to follow a set of do’s and don’ts at the security check.

Do carry the following items/things to the exam hall:

  • All essential documents related to the NEET MDS exam – an ID card, Hall ticket etc.

  • Face Mask

  • A bottle of sanitizer for personal use

  • Disposable gloves

  • Personal water bottle

Candidates are to note that sharing personal items will not be allowed inside the exam hall.

Here is a list of things that candidates must not do:

  • Do not carry any stationeries, like notes, pen, calculator, writing pads, erasers, plastic pouch and pen drives

  • Do not carry any electronic devices, like Earphones, Microphones, Bluetooth, Mobile phones, Health bands and watches etc.

  • Do not carry ornaments and sharp objects, like earrings, bracelets, chains, nose pins, brooches, goggles, wallets etc.

  • Do not carry any eatables, snacks or drinks inside

Candidates found with any of the above-prohibited items will be disqualified from the entrance exam.

NEET MDS 2024 Admit Card

The NEET MDS 2024 Admit Card will be released on March 13, 2024. The NEET MDS 2024 Admit Card, once downloaded from the official website of NBE (National Board of Examination), needs to be kept carefully. It is the hall ticket for entry to the examination centre on the date of the exam.

Keep the following points in mind after downloading your NEET MDS Admit Card 2024:

  • Check for any mistakes in the admit card. Inform the conducting body i.e. NBE immediately in case of any discrepancies

  • Affix a recent Passport size photograph (colour) in the allotted space on the hall ticket

  • Make sure the affixed photograph is in the recommended size i.e. 35x45mm

  • Ensure that the attached photo does not have any stains or scratches

Important Guidelines on NEET MDS 2024 CBT

Candidates taking the exam must be aware of the following CBT guidelines beforehand:

  • The allocated systems will contain the examination login link on the screen. If not, the issue must be raised immediately to the invigilator.

  • Candidates will be permitted to log in only 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time

  • The total duration of the exam is 3 hours (180 minutes)

  • Any candidate found cheating in the exam will be immediately penalized for his/her actions

Steps to Navigate a Question in NEET MDS 2024 Exam

Navigating the answers to each question correctly is of crucial importance in the NEET exam. Here are some instructions on how to navigate a question in the examination:

  • Candidates must drag the cursor to the question number and click on it to answer that particular question directly. The question palette will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen.

  • Candidates must then select the ‘Save & Next’ button to submit their responses before proceeding to the next question. If this is not done, the system will save the early response even if the candidates have clicked on the correct answer.

  • Candidates will need to select the ‘Mark for Review & Next’ option if they wish to save their current answer for review before moving on to the next question. This button allows the candidates to submit their final answers for review. Once this is done, candidates cannot change their responses.

NEET MDS 2024: Things to Keep in Mind

  • No arrangement will be made at the exam centre to keep any items/articles belonging to the candidate. If a candidate is found in possession of any of the restricted items beyond the security check, he/she will be considered eligible for disqualification of candidature.

  • Frisking will not be allowed while social distancing is in effect

  • Candidates will not be allowed for Finger Biometrics at the time of registration due to Covid-19 restrictions

  • A photograph of the applicant will be taken at the venue on the day of the examination. Face ID will be verified at the time of registration and at every bio-break.

  • Candidates will be escorted to the allotted lab in the presence of an invigilator, who will assist in the check-in procedure.

  • All candidates are advised to keep their admit card and photo ID handy at all times during the exam

  • Candidates must wait for the invigilator’s instructions before starting the exam.

  • No pen and paper will be provided inside for any rough work

  • If the invigilator finds a candidate to be suspicious or showing disruptive behaviour, he/she has the right to cancel the candidate’s candidature.

  • In case of a technical disruption during the exam, rest assured that the candidate will be allowed time to complete the examination.
