ISC Class 12 Legal Studies Weightage 2026 : The Legal Studies exam consists of two parts: 70 mark theory paper and 30 mark project work. The theory paper is divided into three sections: Section A consists of very short answer-type questions and MCQs worth 14 marks. Section B consists of short-answer type questions, worth a total worth 28 marks and Section C consists of long-answer type questions of worth 28 marks. While the theory paper focuses on conceptual clarity, case studies and application-based questions, the project work includes research, analysis and present legal issues in detail. The board has not provided any topic-wise weightage for the subject; however, the detailed mark distribution scheme has been provided for the project work. The project work will be assessed by the teacher and a visiting examiner appointed locally and approved by CISCE. Mark allocation per study will be as follows:
