What is Homeschooling?

List of Boards Providing Exams For Homeschoolers

There are currently two different boards in India providing options for homeschoolers to directly enroll for senior and senior secondary board exams to get an eligibility certificate.

• Once the students have successfully turned the age of 14 years and have completed the basic senior secondary curriculum, they can appear for the board exams conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
• Another option available for the student is the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exam. IGCSE is an internationally recognized qualification exam for secondary students that gives out a certificate eligible in colleges in India.

While homeschooling is widely spread across Western countries, it is still in the developing stages in India. You may find a lot of children pursuing homeschooling in metropolises, while the concept is almost invisible in small towns.
