AIT Aquaculture Student Gains Expertise in Shrimp Health Management - Geni Bhargava, a Master’s student in the Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management program at the Asian Institute of Technology, has completed a 12-credit internship at SyAqua Siam Co., Ltd. in Thailand, focusing on shrimp disease challenges and health management. This internship is part of his third-semester study and emphasizes AIT's commitment to combining academic knowledge with practical industry experience. During his training, Geni developed skills in disease testing, molecular diagnostics, and data analysis, contributing to the development of healthier, more resilient shrimp stocks, which supports sustainable aquaculture practices.
AIT and VIT Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Semiconductor Education and Research - The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) have entered a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing semiconductor education and research initiatives. This partnership includes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that facilitates student and faculty exchanges, joint research, dual-degree initiatives, and the establishment of Centres of Excellence in key disciplines. A notable feature is the Graduate Pathway Programme in Semiconductors, which provides VIT students with a seamless academic route starting with a bridging semester at VIT, followed by advanced studies at AIT and Taipei Tech. The collaboration aims to address the growing demand for semiconductor engineers in India, with a target of training 85,000 engineers over the next decade.
AIT–MPRL E&P Partnership Expands to Support New Generation of Scholars - The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has expanded its partnership with MPRL E&P Pte. Ltd, Myanmar, to support emerging scholars in the energy and petroleum field through enhanced research opportunities and funding. This renewed partnership, established in April 2025, will support 12 additional scholars over the next three years, allowing them to enroll in various programs across AIT's three schools. Four scholars have already joined in the August 2025 semester in Sustainable Energy Transition, Natural Resources Management, Business Analytics & Digital Transformation, and International Finance programs. The initiative builds on the success of the previous agreement, which saw 13 scholars complete their studies at AIT, equipping them with in-depth knowledge and practical experience in the industry.
