NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Computer Manufacturers) is conducting its FSIT (Foundation Skills in IT) program at BIT. The first such program is scheduled to be conducted at BIT around December 2014.
MOU with North Dakota State University (NDSU), USABIT has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the North Dakota State University (NDSU), USA, on October 25, 2013. The signing of this MOU throws open new avenues for joint development and conduct of a range of academic and research programs for the faculty and students of BIT and the NDSU which in the long run will greatly benefit both. The joint programs include collaborative research and education, exchange of students and faculty, cultural exchange, joint seminars and workshops, sharing of knowledge, sharing of new technologies and new methods of management through extension and other programs and funding opportunities for joint activity, among others. The signing of the MOU comes at a time when BIT is on the threshold of embarking on new and diverse academic and research programs which would help impart new dimensions to education with improved practices, innovative approach and an international outlook.
As a first step towards giving a solid foundation to this MOU, BIT and NDSU together are conducting an International Workshop in January 2015 on the theme of Sustainable Urban Development – Energy, Food and Resources Conservation. The workshop output is ultimately expected to culminate in the setting up of a Global Research Center at BIT on the theme of Sustainable Urban Development.
