It is often said that if you believe in what you do, with imagination and initiative, you can make a difference. We at National Service Scheme(NSS) Unit DCAC can proudly say that we believed, we initiated, and we made a difference. A couple of years back, from a humble beginning with selected volunteers dedicating their time towards making the world a better place, NSS Unit DCAC is now a powerful workforce running on the same principle. Different branches under NSS DCAC are:
- Project TanZeal
- Save The Quest
- Clean & Green
- Arts & Craft
The beautiful underprivileged children we teach under Project TanZeal, have a zeal in them to dream, and are determined to turn those dreams into reality. The visually challenged students in Save the Quest, who consider the bhaiyas and didis going to scribe their exams no less than angels. Project Clean & Green comprises of volunteers who put in efforts to make the college and surrounding areas clean and healthy, upholding the motto of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. Project Arts & Craft’s volunteers form our very own decoration team for Aadya, the annual festival of NSS DCAC. Blood Connect helps to save hundreds of lives each year by facilitating blood donation. And Project Sensitization, educating us and those around us about the prejudices that stay with us everywhere we go and harm our society.
Aadya, the one day socio-cultural festival that we use as a medium to give numerous NGOs a chance to display their talents and put on sale their creations is one of the much awaited events of the year. There are exciting activities & events like Dance on Dhol, Poster Making, Street Football, Newspaper Dressing, Treasure Hunt, Eating Competition, etc.
A number of activities and seminars with guest speakers, donation drives and intense preparations for Aadya, fun-trips with the TanZeal kids and cleanliness drives, orientation sessions and other activities keep the volunteers of DCAC NSS busy through out the year.
