IIT Kanpur JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 is likely to be more competitive in 2026 as the applicant pool grows. With a projected 6% rise in JEE Advanced test-takers, the closing ranks for these integrated and science programmes will likely move upward by 200–300 positions across most disciplines. Since admissions rely entirely on JEE Advanced ranks through JoSAA for top branches like CSE, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, and BS in Economics, candidates need lower ranks, below AIR 3600, while for other courses, the candidates can expect a slightly higher cutoff.

• The BTech CSE cutoff 2026 can decrease by 8–12%.

The two-year MBA offered by the Department of Management Sciences admits candidates with a bachelor’s degree and at least 65% marks, along with a valid CAT score. • The General category cutoff is expected to rise from 80 to 85 percentile in 2025, with 70 sectional marks needed across all sections.

IIT Kanpur CEED cutoff 2025 for its two-year MDes programme required the candidates to score a minimum of 35 percentile in Part A for the general category. Only the candidates with 35 percentile in Part A were allowed to write Part B. The CEED scores have a weightage of 50%, with portfolio and interview staying at 30% and 20%, respectively, in the MDes selection process at IIT Kanpur. 

• The IIT Kanpur MDes eligibility criteria are to have a minimum of 55% in B.E./B.Tech./B.Des./B.Arch/BDes/BArch or 7.0 CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) for the IIT graduates. For the SC/ST/PWD, it's 50% in graduation in the mentioned streams.
• With the CEED 2025 cutoff of 31.5 percentile, the OBC-NCL candidates received a 5% relaxation compared to the general candidates.
• EWS candidates had no such relaxation, and required the same cutoff as the general candidates.

IIT Kanpur has the authority to determine the cutoff/ opening and closing ranks for various courses. The candidates who clear the cutoff specified by IIT Kanpur shall be considered for the admission process however not all the candidates who clear the cutoff may get admission in IIT Kanpur courses. The final selection of the candidates shall be based on the components specified by the institute.

For some courses, IIT Kanpur may conduct a separate written test and interview to select the candidates.
