Is the JEST exam tough?
JEST is often considered tougher than many other competitive exams. In terms of difficulty, JEST is seen as moderate to difficult, especially for Physics. It is often ranked between IIT JAM (which is easier) and CSIR NET (which can be more difficult) in terms of challenge level.
The exam analysis of previous years by the experts and test takers suggests that the overall difficulty level of JEST 2024 was moderate to difficult. While some questions were straightforward in nature, there were tricky questions also where students should apply their knowledge before attempting such questions.
What is the JEST 2025 eligibility criteria?
To be eligible for JEST 2025, candidates must:
- Be Indian citizens
- Have a Master's degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates)
- Be appearing for the final year of their Master's degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce (semester-based system) or have completed their Master's degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce (annual system)
What is the JEST 2025 exam pattern?
The JEST 2025 exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) of 3 hours duration. The exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into three parts:
Part A: General Science (20 questions, 2 marks each)
Part B: Physics (50 questions, 2 marks each)
Part C: Mathematics (30 questions, 4 marks each)
Is there an age limit for taking the JEST exam 2025?
