    NIT Kurukshetra Overview

    For NIT Kurukshetra admission to the B.Tech course, the JEE Main 2023 Admit Card session 1 has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). For the 2023 session, the NTA is releasing the JEE Main 2023 admit card on a day-to-day basis. On January 21, 2023, the JEE Main admit card was released for the exam to be held on January 24, 2023. For the JEE Main 2023 exam to be held on January 25, 2023, the admit card was released on January 22, 2023. For the NIT Kurukshetra admission process for B.Tech, candidates can download their JEE admit card from the site jeemain.nta.nic.in. by entering details like Application Number and Date of Birth. The JEE Main Unofficial Answer Key has been released. The official provisional answer key for the JEE Main 2023 Official Answer Key for session 1 will be available in the first week of February 2023 followed by the Final Answer Key in the second week of February 2023. 

    Moreover, as per the latest press note released by the NTA, the revised JEE Main 2023 exam date for session 1 will be January 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31, and, February 1, 2023.  On January 28, 2023, the JEE Main paper 2 for B.Arch will be held in the second shift. Thereafter, the JEE Main session 2 online application will begin on February 7, 2023. The last date of application for session 2 is March 7, 2023. The admit card for the 2nd session will release in the last week of March 2023. The examination will be held on April 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, 2023.  After the JEE Main exam, candidates must also meet the NIT Kurukshetra cutoff to secure a seat in B.Tech.  

    For the even semester of the current academic year 2023-2024, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra is accepting applications for admission to its PhD programmes in several departments and schools. The NIT Kurukshetra PhD admission 2023-24 last date to apply for the applications is December 15, 2022

    The GATE 2023 exam will be organised by IIT Kanpur and will be conducted in a Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode. While the organising Institute for GATE exam in 2023 is IIT Kanpur, it will be conducted by IISC Bangalore and 7 IITs. The seven IITs are IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, and, IIT Roorkee). The last date for GATE 2023 registration is October 4, 2022 (without late fee). Students can register for the GATE exam on gate.iitk.ac.in.     JoSAA has released the NIT Kurukshetra B.Tech cutoff 2022 on the josaa.nic.in website. The round 5 JoSAA cutoff up to round 5 has been released on the official website josaa.nic.in. The JoSAA round 3 cutoff 2022 has been declared on October 3, 2022. Using details like the JEE Main 2022 application number and password, students can check the NIT Kurukshetra cutoff 2022 on josaa.nic.in. The selected students will have to report online and pay the fees before October 6, 2022, 5 pm, for round 3. To confirm their B.Tech seats, students are required to qualify the JEE Mains/JEE Advanced and thereafter the JoSAA cutoff 2022. On September 23, 2022, the JoSAA 2022 results or Round 1 were declared. The JoSAA cutoff for round 4 is expected to be released on October 8, 2022. JoSAA has released the NIT Kurukshetra cut-off 2022 Round 2 for B.Tech courses on September 29, 2022. The JoSAA round 2 seat allotment for 2022 was announced on September 28, 2022, on the official website josaa.nic.in. 

    National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, also known as NITKKR, was established in 1963.  NIT Kurukshetra is one of the 30 NITs established and administered by the Government of India. NITKKR is a public technical and research university. It was accredited with Institute of National Importance status in December 2008. 

    The National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, was first known as Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra (REC). It was a joint enterprise of the Government of India and the Government of Punjab.     NIT Kurukshetra Courses

    The courses at the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra are offered at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.     NIT Kurukshetra Admission Process 2023

    The National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of engineering, management and computer application. It also has a PhD programme and two certification courses in data science and big data. The degree courses offered at NIT Kurukshetra are B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA and PhD. The B.Tech course at NITKKR offers seven specialisations and M.Tech offers five specialisations.     NIT Kurukshetra Selection Criteria for 2023

    B.Tech

    • Candidates must have cleared 10+2 with a minimum of 75% marks or be in the top 20% of the respective board with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical as Vocational subjects.
    • Candidates must also clear JEE Main exam.
    • Considering the 10+2 results and the scoring in JEE Main. Candidates will be selected based on the merit list as per All India Rankings(AIR).
    • Candidates must register for online counselling at the official Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSSA) website.
    • Branch choice and locking have to be done by the candidates to decrease the order of preference.
    • Based on the cutoff set by the institute, seats will be allocated in each round of counselling.

    M.Tech 

    • Candidates must have cleared B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks.
    • Candidates must also clear the GATE exam.
    • The selection of candidates is based on the GATE score.
    • Candidates must register and appear for Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan (CCMT) counselling.
    • Cut off for each of the specialisations will be decided by the central counselling board of CCMT.

    PhD

    • Candidates must have a Master's Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA.
    • Candidates must clear a written test conducted by the institute, and qualified students will be tested by the Department Research Committee (DRC) through a written test.
    • Candidates will be selected based on the results of the written test and interview conducted by the institute.

    MBA 

    • Candidates must have cleared graduation in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks.
    • Candidates must also clear the CAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT Exam.

    NIT Kurukshetra accepts the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) scores to allot admission to the B.Tech course. The online application for JEE Main 2023 session 1 for NIT Kurukshetra B.Tech admission 2023 started on December 15, 2022. The last date to apply for the same is January 12, 2023.     NIT Kurukshetra JEE Main Answer Key 2023

    The official JEE Main 2023 answer key is released in 2 parts. The National Testing Agency (NTA) first releases the Provisional Answer Key. The provisional answer key is available for 2 to 3 days and students can raise objections to this answer key if any. For raising any objections, candidates have to pay Rs 200 for every objection in the JEE Main 2023 answer key. After this, the Final Answer Key will be released for NIT Kurukshetra course admissions to B.Tech. The NTA releases the final answer key on its official website in online mode. Alongside the official answer key, many private institutes also release an unofficial answer key for JEE Main exam.

    B.Tech

    • Register online for JEE Main exams for B.Tech.
    • Enter all personal details and academic details and upload all required documents.
    • Make the NIT Kurukshetra application fee payments online using a Debit card/ Credit card/ Net banking or UPI payment.
    • Screenshot/print the payment success and confirmation page for future reference.

    M.Tech

    • Register online for the GATE exam.
    • Enter the login details and create an id and password.
    • Fill up the form by entering personal details and academic details and uploading all required documents.
    • Enter the GATE paper (subject) and choice of examination cities.
    • After filling, pay the application fee of Rs 1,500 (Rs 750 for female/SC/ST/OBC candidates)
    • Screenshot/print the payment success and confirmation page for future reference.

    PhD

    • Login to the NIT Kurukshetra website and download the application.
    • Candidates must address the filled application to The Director NIT Kurukshetra and submit it at the office of the Registrar, Golden Jubilee Administrative Building, NIT Kurukshetra, Kurukshetra- 136119.
    • The application fee of Rs 200 must be submitted along with the application in the form of a Demand Draft in favour of the Director, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, payable at Kurukshetra.
    • Alternatively, applicants can deposit the fee online using SBI i-collect facility and then attach the receipt along with the application.

    MBA

    • Login to the institute website and download the NIT Kurukshetra application form and take a print and fill out the form with necessary details.
    • Candidates can send the duly filled form to the institute along with the NIT Kurukshetra application fee of Rs 1,000 in the form of a Demand Draft favouring The Director, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, payable at Kurukshetra.

    MCA

    • Register online for the NIMCET exam.
    • Enter the login details and create an id and password.
    • After filling out the registration form, candidates must pay the application fee of Rs 2,500 and screenshot/print the payment success and confirmation page for future reference.

    NIT Kurukshetra Entrance Exams

    B.Tech - Candidates must have cleared 10+2 with a minimum of 75% marks or be in the top 20% of the respective board with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical as Vocational subjects.

     NIT Kurukshetra M.Tech Cutoff 2022

    The NIT M.Tech cutoff is released once the results of the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam are out. The entire process of score evaluation and releasing cutoff is carried out under the supervision of the CCMT (Centralised Counselling for M.Tech). NIT Kurukshetra is a pioneer institute for courses in engineering and management. 

    The NIT Kurukshetra M.Tech cutoff is released in the form of opening and closing ranks.     NIT Kurukshetra Scholarships

    The National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra (NITKKR) offers several scholarships to its undergraduate and postgraduate students based on the merit system. Some of the NIT Kurukshetra scholarships are listed below:

    • Merit scholarship – NITKKR offers 26 merit scholarships each year for a student who is scored more than 60% in the last qualifying semester.
    • Merit cum means scholarship – NIT Kurukshetra offers merit cum means scholarship to a student is scored more than 60% in the qualifying exam and whose family has an annual income of less than Rs 2,50,000.
    • National scholarship – National scholarship is offered to students whose family has an annual income of less than Rs 2,50,000 and who scored more than 60% in the qualifying exam. The board also awards Rs 300 per month.
    • National scholarship for teacher’s school-going children – This NIT Kurukshetra scholarship is for the children of working teachers in any recognized primary/ secondary school; whose annual income of less than Rupees 2,50,000.
    • Post matric SC/ST scholarship - It offers post-matric SC/ST scholarships to students of scheduled caste and tribe people whose family’s annual income is less than Rs 2,50,000. The board also offers Rs 425 per month.
