About NIMCET 2018

National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test, also known as NIMCET, is a national-level entrance exam conducted in offline mode. By appearing for this entrance exam, candidates can get admission into MCA courses at different NITs across the country. MCA seats are allotted to the candidates in various participating institutes as per their performance and ranks in NIMCET.

NIMCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for NIMCET 2018, candidates must check the eligibility criteria of NIMCET 2018. The NIMCET 2018 eligibility criteria mentions the educational qualifications, age limit, and minimum marks/percentage that a candidate must score to be eligible to sit for the entrance exam. Candidates seeking admission in MCA courses have to fulfill the specified NIMCET 2018 eligibility criteria. Candidates not meeting the NIMCET 2018 eligibility criteria will not be allowed to appear for the entrance exam.

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

  • To appear in the entrance exam, there is no age limit.

  • The candidate should have cleared B.Sc./B.Sc.(Hons.)/BCA/BIT under 10+2+3 pattern with Mathematics/Statistics as a subject or equivalent from a recognised University.

  • The candidate having a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Bachelor of Technology degree or equivalent from a recognised University can also apply for the entrance exam.

  • General and OBC candidates should have scored at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA score in aggregate in all the subjects.

  • Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) category candidates are required to score at least 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in aggregate in all the subjects.

NIMCET 2018 Exam Pattern

NIMCET 2018 exam pattern consists of information regarding exam mode, marks distribution, format of the exam, total number of questions, question paper type and negative marking in the entrance exam. NIMCET 2018 exam pattern is specified by the test conducting National Institute of Technology (NIT). NIMCET 2018 Result Declared

NIMCET result has been announced by the exam conducting authority, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal on 6th June, 2018. Test takers would be able to view their scores/ranks by entering the login credentials, i.e. Email  ID and Password. The result of NIMCET 2018 displays the qualifying status as well as ranks of the candidates in the entrance exam.

NIMCET 2018 Counselling

NIMCET counselling 2018 is going to begin once the result of the entrance exam is declared. The counselling of NIMCET 2018 is conducted in online mode for all the qualified candidates. As part of the process, shortlisted candidates have to participate in NIMCET counselling 2018 by filling their choices/preferences. The counselling procedure also includes reporting to allotted institute as per the availability of seats and ranks scored by the candidate.

The NIMCET counselling 2018 is expected to begin in the month of June. Candidates who are selected to appear for the counselling rounds have to take part in NIMCET counselling and also have to report at the college to confirm their admission into MCA course offered by NITs.

Detailed NIMCET 2018 Counselling Process

  • To participate in the counselling, qualified candidates, by using their Hall ticket number and Password, can fill the choices of NITs in online mode.

  • During the counselling procedure of NIMCET 2018, qualified candidates have to submit proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria. In case, any candidate fails to submit his/her documents, then it will result in his/her cancellation of admission by the respective participating institutes

  • During the admission procedure, candidates are required to produce NIMCET 2018 admit card at the counselling centre and participating institute.

  • Qualified candidates get admission in MCA course across various participating institutes on the basis of their NIMCET 2018 rank and locked choices.

  • As part of the NIMCET 2018 counselling process, OPEN/OBC category candidates have to pay a non-refundable counselling fee of INR 2000 and SC/ST category candidates have to pay INR 1000.

  • Once the NIMCET 2018 counselling procedure is complete, the admission conducting institute commences the seat allotment procedure.

  • Candidates have to download the seat allotment letter and report at the respective reporting centre for seat confirmation.
