August 06, 2025Vaishali Portel presents Research at Prestigious AOGS Conference - Ms. Vaishali Portel, a Ph.D. scholar at the Centre for Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS), University of Hyderabad, was selected to present her research at the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS) 2025 held in Singapore. Ms. Portel presented her paper titled “Impact of Solar Proton Events on the Polar MLT Region – A Long-Term Study”, which investigated the dynamics of the Mesosphere-Lower Thermosphere (MLT) during multiple solar proton events using meteor radar observations. Her participation in the conference provided valuable academic interactions with researchers and professionals, broadening her research perspective and opening avenues for future collaboration. The presentation received constructive feedback from domain experts, enriching her work. Ms. Portel gratefully acknowledges the INSPIRE program (DST) and AOGS organizers for partial financial support, as well as the constant encouragement and support from CEOAS, University of Hyderabad. The Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS) aims to promote geosciences and their applications for the benefit of humanity, particularly across Asia and Oceania, with a global perspective. The conference serves as a platform for researchers worldwide to share and discuss advancements in various geoscientific disciplines.
July 16, 2025UoH and AIIMS-Bibinagar Collaborate for Research and Capacity Building - The University of Hyderabad (UoH) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bibinagar (AIIMS Bibinagar) have recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in research, training, and capacity building in areas of mutual interest. AIIMS Bibinagar shall extend its facilities as a referral cum empaneled hospital to the staff and students of UoH. The Key Areas of Collaboration include: 1. Capacity Building and Training 2. Collaborative Research 3. Joint PhD Programs 4. Student and Faculty Exchange 5. Internship Opportunities 6. Research Grants 7. Conferences/Seminars/Symposia/Workshops. The MoU aims to foster interdisciplinary research, translational research, and basic research, with a focus on building a cadre of clinician-scientists. The collaboration will also facilitate the development of affordable products for healthcare and diagnostics; Enhanced research opportunities for faculty and students; Capacity building in community and family medicine, public health, and hospital management; Access to advanced curriculum and best practices in healthcare. The MoU is valid for a period of five years and can be extended further by mutual consultation and agreement.
