VIT is unique among Mumbai's educational institutions in that it was founded by the Vidyalankar Dyanapeeth Trust, an organisation with a long history in education. Prof. C.S. Deshpande established the trust. In 1960, he began tutoring kids in a small classroom in Dadar, Mumbai, where he still lives today. In 1974, Vidyalankar lessons were relocated to the 'Pearl Center' in Dadar, where they remain today. The trust chose to expand after 39 years of teaching students by opening the Vidyalankar Institute of Technology. Vidyalankar Classs is located in Pearl Center. The institute was founded in 1997 and transferred to its current location in 2001.
It has received an exceptional rating of A+ from the NAAC. Admission to all courses is solely based on academic achievement. For UG programmes, candidates are chosen based on their performance in the MHTCET test. Similarly, admission to PG-level programmes is based on the candidate's GATE score. The candidate's marks on their last qualifying test are taken into account for Ph.D. programs. There are 780 places available for undergraduate programs and 174 seats available for graduate programs.

Placement: If you score high in all semester exams then there is no worry about placement, you will definitely get good package. Average placement in our college is 6 to 8 lakh per annum.
Infrastructure: Main attraction of VIT is Infrastructure, Awesome infrastructure. All classrooms, library, labs are air conditioned. Sitting arrangement in classroom is very comfortable. You can adjust in college environment on your first day. Seniors will tour you college. Seniors are very friendly. Antiragging community in our college. In library there are many books available, sitting arrangement is good in library. Lab are also good. If you interested in sports, there are 3 grounds in campus. Many sports team are there. Student main attraction is S-block here you can play table tennis, carrom, chess, pool etc. Big auditorium also there.
Faculty: I said VIT is best among Mumbai University because of Faculty in our college. There are literally awesome. Friendly in nature. If have any doubt related to study or other than study they will definitely help you . For IT department faculties are best. They are qualified, mostly of them are Master degree holder. They will teach you the best and help to score good pointer in Semester exam. Other than faculty like college staff are also very good.
