Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology is situated in Pune, Maharashtra. VIIT is a private college established in 2002, accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), National Board of Accreditation (NBA), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

VIIT Pune courses are offered at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. To be eligible for admission to Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology UG programmes, candidates must have at least 50% in their Class 12 test from a recognised board.

VIIT Pune B.Tech admissions are offered through the Common Admission Process (CAP) counselling process based on the candidates rank in JEE Mains for candidates all over India, 

VIIT Pune M.Tech admissions are offered through merit based on the GATE entrance examination. 

To move forward with the VIIT Pune admission process candidates seeking admission to B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral), M.Tech, and PhD programmes must have valid scores in the relevant national or state level exams. VIIT Pune admissions are offered through the DTE website. Candidates are advised to follow the VIIT Pune application process given below:

Step 1: Visit the DTE of Maharashtra's official website (http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/).

Step 2: Fill out the online form after registering as a new user.

Step 3: Candidates must attend the ‘Facilitation Centre’ for document verification.

Step 4: Preferences for courses and institutions must be filled out and validated in the application form prior to the start of CAP Round 1.

Step 5: Following the completion of the final CAP round, candidates may report to the institution to confirm their admission.

Over 150 companies from various fields participated and recruited students, according to the VIIT Pune placement report 2019-20. A total of 150 businesses took part, employing 295 students. The students were offered an average of Rs 6,76,000.

VIIT Pune placement cell began its 2022 placement drive, which has already attracted 82 recruiters. So far, 421 placement offers and 60 pre-placement offers have been received. FINLQ offered the highest CTC during the ongoing placement drive, up to Rs 15 lakh per annum. Students were offered an average CTC of Rs 4.7 lakh per annum. VIIT Pune B.Tech Computer Engineering programme aims to attain a 100% placement percentage. Over 76 companies offered packages of more than Rs 6 lakh per annum.

The VIIT Pune infrastructure is tailored to the demands of the students. The institute's facilities are contemporary and up to date. Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology facilities include a central library with a sufficient amount of books and periodicals, an auditorium, a canteen with a variety of food outlets, wifi, and numerous more amenities. 

The VIIT Pune hostel provides dormitory accommodations for out-of-town students. The college includes separate dormitories for male and female students. The VIIT Pune hostel facilities include nice and clean rooms as well as all necessary utilities. There are also individual labs for each department. The Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology laboratories contains all of the necessary equipment for students. Students can use the VIIT Pune sports facilities to take a break from academics and renew their brains.

Hostel

VIIT Pune includes one boys hostel and two girls hostels exclusively for female students. The institute includes separate dorms for UG and PG students. Nest Hostel houses undergraduate students, whereas Samarth Hostel houses postgraduate students.

Library

The VIIT Pune central library has an outstanding selection of current textbooks, reference books, handbooks, journals, periodicals, proceedings CDs, and other materials. The library has a reference section, a journal section, a reading hall, a digital library section, a multimedia facility, and a stack room, among other things. Book availability searches in the library are fully computerised and can be performed from any LAN-connected PC on campus. All library books and other materials adhere to AICTE guidelines.

Sports

VIIT Pune playground is utilised for a variety of activities such as cricket, football, and athletics. Annual sports activities are held on campus for students.

Laboratories

VIIT Pune laboratories include the civil engineering lab, chemistry lab, computer lab, electronics lab, language lab, mechanical lab and physics lab.

Medical

VIIT Pune has first aid and emergency care centre at the campus. In cases of emergency, VIIT Pune campus also has an ambulance.  

Transport

There is a regular PMPML bus service from Pune station and ‘Swargate’ bus stand to the VIIT Pune campus. The college also provides transportation from the hostels to the college campus on working days.
