Vishwa Vishwani Institute of Systems and Management Launches Apprenticeship-Embedded Computer Science Degree
Vishwa Vishwani Institute of Systems and Management, has announced the introduction of an Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP) in computer science, reflecting a broader national emphasis on skills development and industry-linked training outlined in India’s Union Budget for 2026–27.
The four-year undergraduate programme, offered in affiliation with Osmania University, is being delivered in partnership with TalentSprint. The structure combines two years of campus-based academic study with a year of industry-focused training followed by a year of apprenticeship exposure.
The launch comes amid increased policy attention on apprenticeships, internships, and job-ready training as part of workforce development efforts. Budget provisions for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship were expanded, alongside initiatives aimed at strengthening industry participation and promoting training in emerging technology areas such as artificial intelligence and digital services.
The programme is open to students completing higher secondary education with qualifying entrance examination scores and an additional institutional selection process. The first cohort is expected to begin in July 2026, subject to final academic scheduling.
While apprenticeship-linked education remains an evolving segment within India’s higher education landscape, policymakers and institutions continue to explore blended academic-industry frameworks to better align graduate skills with labour-market requirements.
