Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) is one of the leading federal universities in Russia. It was established in the year 1899. It is the first classical higher educational institution in Eastern Siberia and the Far East of the country. The university is accredited by the NMC (National Medical Commission) and the WHO (World Health Organization). In 2013, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science selected FEFU to participate in a program to enhance the Russian universities' international competitiveness among the world's leading research and education institutions.
