American Higher Education Alliance (AHEA) and the Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC), the two non-profitable organisations to support higher education have signed a partnership through which the members will collaborate virtually for co-development and programmatic internationalisation.
According to Sean Manley-Casimir, the executive director of CONAHEC, the partnership between CONAHEC and AHEA will help faculty and students to develop intercultural competencies. It will also help institutions to strengthen their relationships with their peers abroad.
CONAHEC has a total strength of of150 members and is involved in the promotion of international higher education through collaboration between the institutes of North America and the rest of the world.
He further said that the partnership will allow the members of the institutions to work in collaboration with the institutes of different countries and help students get exposed at international level with a new perspective.

Through the partnership, they are also planning to support Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to conduct online and hybrid learning system and help them develop curriculum, virtual exchange programmes and hybrid assessment method.
The CEO of AHEA, Benjamin Shank said that they were planning and working to enhance the future of higher education through collaboration among the faculty at the global level that would result in innovative academic programme and help leaders of higher education to accept changes and also prepare students for success.
The mobility coordinator for CONAHEC, Santiago Castiello Gutiérrez said that it is the technology due to which the acquisition of intercultural knowledge and skills is no longer dependent on the global locatoon and is indepenedent on travel. He further said that the virtual mobility and technology broadens the scope of access to international and intercultural experiences in an affordable manner.
