Established in 1962, Lynn University, previously known as Marymount College (1962-1974) and then College of Boca Raton (1974-1991) is a private university located in Boca Raton, Florida. It was renamed Lynn University in 1991. Lynn University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges. Lynn University's ranking in the US News and World Report 2020 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Universities South, #65.

Lynn University has a 115-acre campus, located in the beautiful suburban area of Boca Raton, South Florida. The campus is surrounded by beautiful beaches, entertainment and thriving businesses that offer internship and employment opportunities. The most popular majors at Lynn University include Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs; Visual and Performing Arts; Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting and Related Protective Services; and Psychology.

Lynn’s commitment to being among the nation’s top independent, international and innovative colleges allows it to be consistently recognized as a top-ranking institution. It has been awarded four times successively with the Apple Distinguished School award for constant discovery in education, schooling, and campus surroundings. Furthermore, the Princeton Review acknowledged Lynn as one of 861 institutions in its annual "Green Ratings" of universities. On October 22, 2012, the university entertained the third and final 2012 U.S. Presidential Debate between U.S. President Barack Obama and previous Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney on the matter of U.S. foreign policy. Notable alumni include Lisa Kerney, Tommy Kahnle, Jared Montz, Melissa Ortiz and many more.

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

As of 2019, the university has a diverse student body of 3247 students (2422 undergraduate, 749 graduates and 76 doctoral) coming from 97 countries and 46 states making it quite friendly for international students.  Top hirers include GE Healthcare, IBM, Jarden Consumer Solutions and Carnival Cruise Lines. Throughout the 2018–19 academic year, 509 students partook in internships for credit with companies such as Hilton, Miami Super Bowl Host Committee, Northwestern Mutual, U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Walt Disney World.

Merit Based Scholarship

International students need not apply for financial aid or fill out any form for scholarships offered by Lynn University. 

The Lynn University automatically determines the eligibility of the candidate to be considered for financial aid. The university offers academic scholarships to eligible international students enrolled in undergraduate studies on the basis of grades obtained in SAT or ACT and TOEFL tests. 

Value of Scholarship 

The funds do not cover the full cost of studies. The value of scholarships ranges between  $6,000 and $12,000 per academic year. The award is granted on the basis of the level of achievement of the candidate.
