One of the four campuses of the University of Colorado system, The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), was established in 1965 tracing its roots back to the creation of Cragmor Sanatorium, which is now the Main Hall. UCCS has been accredited by many institutions. Chief among them are the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), American Association of University Professors (AAUP), American Chemical Society (accreditation), American Psychological Association (accreditation), American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). The University of Colorado Colorado Springs ranks at 153rd position in Business Programmes, #265 in Top Performers on Social Mobility & #293-#381 in National Universities by US News and is ranked #197 in Public Colleges, #104 in The West, #246 America's Best Value Colleges 2019 & #544 Top Colleges 2019 by Forbes.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Having offered classes since 1945, the year 1965 saw UCCS move to its current location on Austin Bluffs Parkway in the Cragmor neighborhood of Northern Colorado Springs. The campus is located at one of the highest parts of the city. The 550 acres campus houses many Museums or special academic buildings on campus some of which are: Heller Center for Arts and Humanities, UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art, Marie Walsh Sharpe Gallery of Contemporary Art, Peak FreQuency Creative Arts Collective, Ent Center for the Arts. The most popular majors at University of Colorado--Colorado Springs include Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Health Professions and Related Programs; Social Sciences; Psychology; and Biological and Biomedical Sciences.

Accomplishments & Alumni

With an International student retention rate of 92% and a median starting salary of $66,700 (Engineering) and $66,400 (Computer and Information Sciences), UCCS is proud to give their students access to a strong network of 28,000+ Alumni globally. With 288 tenured/tenure-track faculty, 795 university or classified staff & 1993 student-faculty or student workers. UCCS has a strong network of alumni all across the globe who are occupied with various industries across multiple sectors. Noted alumni include John Herrington, United States Naval Aviator, Steve Bach, Former Mayor of Colorado Springs, and Yusef Komunyakaa, American poet among many others.
