The 27th West Bengal State Eligibility Test was held on December 14, 2025, across the state. Since the WB SET is conducted to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor posts and includes 33 subjects, knowing the expected cutoff helps students guess their chances while they wait for the official WB SET Result 2025. The qualifying marks or cutoff basically show the minimum aggregate percentage (Paper I + Paper II combined) required to clear the exam. In simple terms, cutoff marks decide whether a candidate will be included in the merit list or not.
Now, when it comes to calculating the SC category expected cutoff, the idea mostly depends on three things: the difficulty level of the paper, how subjects performed in the last few SET cycles, and the overall availability of seats/qualifying slots per subject. Based on older WBCSC cutoff trends, we can see very clear patterns. Many humanities and social science subjects usually stay in the mid-40% to high-50% zone. Meanwhile, subjects like Psychology, Arabic, and Earth Sciences often show higher ranges. On the other hand, technical and pure-science subjects mostly fall around low-50% ranges.
Also, the WB SET result generally comes out 6-10 weeks after the exam. So, looking at that pattern from earlier cycles, candidates can expect the 27th WB SET Result 2025 and the confirmed official cutoff list during late January or early February 2026. But of course, only WBCSC’s official notification will give the final and exact cutoffs.
